The Great Marquez just saying what any right minded boxing fan sees. Good fight, good win for Canelo, but not on elite. Just like when Roy Jones beat Ruiz in the heavyweight division, hreat win but that did not make Jones an Elite in the Heavyweight division. Nothing wrong with his opinion.

The red haired mexican has elite tatoo'd all over him. He just made the best 154lbe'r out there look like a fool missing shots and this boy isn't a boxer first. He's a slugger like the boxing god mexicans has always revered. A slugger outboxing the boxer is elite in my world. IMO, he did better than Pacquiao in beating a really good boxer in his own game. It was not only a matter of brute strength he showed but intelligence and maturity beyond his years.

That is why this last fight he had had Floyd worried and running.

He beat Cotto and....what? Trout and Canelo both were fighters who hadn't done much coming into this fight. Canelo is now a fighter who's done something. Does NOT make him elite, makes him good with a chance to earn an elite spot. Also Canelo is not a slugger. He's a boxer-puncher. There is a difference you know... I wasn't overly impressed but he gets a lot of credit for the win. He showed a terrible weakness in his stamina it seemed, and the open scoring really changed the fight quite a bit... some many intangibles in that fight really.

When Lara fought Vanes...well I would have rather went outside grabbed a cricket and scorpion put them in a shoe box and watch them go at it.

He should no that he (JMM) is #1 in mexico. There is just too many of us mexican boxing fans for all of us to be on the same team.

I will be pissed if canelo only fights twice a year for now on. Way too young. He should do like 2011 and go for 4 fights. hell take out Lara or Vanes in july.
