Since Pac has moved up from 140:

Floyd fought Marquez (won handily) Beat Mosley (Champion, #1 Welter) Beat Ortiz (#2 welter) and now beat Cotto (Champion, #1 Junior Middle) and will beat Guerrero #3 ww

Pac has fought Cotto (#4 Welter) Clottey (#6 welter) Beat Mosley (#5 welter) Margarito (unranked) and Marquez (unranked, some felt he lost) Bradley, and got sparked cold by Marquez

Now Pac is fighting ex college wrestling champ in a high priced tune up??
Well the only notable fighters who made Floyd as for now were his fights against Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley and Marquez.

Pac vs Marquez.was 2-1-1 in favor of Pacquaio despite of the ko loss while Pac beat the hell out of Oscar, Hatton, Mosley and Cotto in one sided fashion gave them the worst beating of their lives.

Now you compare this guy supposed to be greater than Pac (Floyd) the manner how he won against these 4 common opponents (Oscar, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto) vs Pac against them.

Now you add Pac wins and championship belts at 112, 122, 126, 130, 135, 140. 147, 154 and his 4 lineal titles. I hope you get the idea now.

            A few things...

            - How was Cotto ranked #4 at Welterweight when he fought Manny? He was world champion.

            - Saying Marquez was unranked doesn't tell the whole story. If he actually fought consistently at Welterweight before the third fight he would've easily been top 3.

            - You can't seriously mention Bradley in that list. He got the decision but he didn't win the fight.

            - Why the hate for Pacquiao fighting Alvarado? People were talking about Pacquiao-Rios being a good fight - well do you still want to see it after Rios has just come off a loss? Would you not rather he fought the person that just beat Rios instead, which is actually a harder fight for Pacquiao, in my opinion?

I prefer the person who beat them first than the person that was able to stop them, different style of fighter.

pac was also brutally ko'd by no names

Marquez and Pac is really a draw. marquez won the last 2 and pac the first 2. Floyd handled him with ease, but pac has the edge there because he fought marquez at his peak weight

              floyds also never lost

cotto was only a wbo titlist he won vacantly

nothing but speculation on your part

I didn't say bradley won the fight

it'll be a good fight but it does nothing for pacs resume, will help his confidence but thats about it

Nat, youre solid as a poster. Lately though, your asian pride has been blinding you. May vs Pac welterweight resume is clean cut. Seriously bro, let that Rigo win over Donaire go.

Cotto was still a world champion, though, which transcends him from any 1-10 ranking list. world champions > other ranked fighters. That's the way it is for any organisation.

Yeah, of course it's speculation on my part about Marquez, but I think anyone would have a hard time arguing against my assumption being on course.

I agree that a win over Alvarado won't do anything for Pacquiao's resume, but I think it'll be a good fight if it does happen and a solid win for Manny, should he take it.
