boos were for rigo, it happens when that type of boxing is exhibited.
Guillermo Rigondeaux Q&A: "I believe the boos were for Nonito."

No they booed nonito the champion and top 5 pfp fighter who most people showed up for but managed to throw less punches, land less punches at a 23% rate while rigo threw more, landed more and connected at a 33% rate. Nonito lost 11 rounds and was completely outclassed.Comment

Not only that. Those that are accusing Rigondeaux of "running," and not fighting, don't realize that Guillermo landed and threw more punches than Donaire. I remember watching the fight live and saying to my friend, "What are these fools booing at? Rigo's actually more active than Nonito. Donaire is just standing there."
It's amazing how deceptive your mind can be when your eyes show you something you don't want to see.Comment

I'm sure there were many more ignorant fans like her in attendance. People like this have no clue how boxing matches are scored. They only know how to cheer for their countryman. If their boy happens to lose by anything other than KO, they simply can't understand it because they don't know the rules.Comment

No doubt, bro. I remember overhearing this young Filipino chick saying, as we were walking out of the venue, "I don't know how they can award the fight to that guy. He didn't do anything." lol

I don't know if you know anything about baseball, but a "pitcher's duel" is prized by purists. It's a low scoring game, usually 1-0 or thereabouts. Many people find that boring, but it's baseball on a high level. High scoring games typically mean poor pitching, and/or, poor defense.
Your preference is a matter of taste, but because you prefer it doesn't necessarily make it high-quality.Comment
