You think if they were the same size, 2001 Floyd in his peak vs this Rigondeaux in his peak, Rigondeaux wins???

I don't see it. Rigondeaux needs someone to engage, and Floyd wouldn't engage him. It would be a terribly boring fight, but with Rigondeaux's low activity, Floyd wins. Even Floyd who's not terribly active looks like Paul Williams when compared to Rigondeaux.

Mayweather has utterly out classed people on the pro level for 15 years now, and many were in the Top 10 P4P at the times he did as well.

We can't compare the two. Rigondeaux has insane reflexes, but I swear people forget how good Floyd was at 130 lbs from 1998-2001 where he was dominating. The only close fight Floyd has was against Jose Luis Castillo, who......is definitely a notch above Ricardo Cordoba. Castillo is the best Lightweight if his era.

All we can do is speculate because Rigondeaux turned pro pushing 30. But he'll never get to the point where people rank him with Floyd as an ATG, because Floyd has a pro career, won titles against top ranked fighters in 5 weight classes, was P4P for at least 15 years now.

I mean......a week ago Rigondeaux was supposedly hype with a suspect chin, and because he beat Donaire and got one really good win, he's P4P #1 and greater than Floyd Mayweather???

I love Rigondeaux, he's one of my favorites, but this is getting ridiculous now.
Speak for urself, many saw rigos talent and skills before donaire and picked him to win, me being one of them.

I saw Rigondeaux's talent too, have been a fan for awhile now.

But we can't compare getting one real good win to someone who's gotten many good wins and been on top for 15 years.

It's like saying because Bowe beat a prime Holyfield, he's better than someone like Larry Holmes. Which is not true, of course.

Hang on, a week ago Rigo was hype with no chin?

There's threads that date back months full of people talking about how good Rigo is and how he would make Donaire look silly. The only people calling Rigo hype were those picking Donaire.

It wasn't just us, Donaire himself knew how good Rigo was and he tried to avoid the fight and get out of it at every possible opportunity...in fact he was trying to create opportunities through making things up and blaming Rigo.

Better than Mayweather? I'm not going there. People do seem to have forgot how incredible Mayweather was at 130.

But you're completely disregarding his am career in saying that where he was simple irresistibly dominant. Beat the likes of Gamboa, mares, Russell jr with ease, total breeze. The guy is just a winner plain and simple.

People are comparing Floyd to Donaire like Rigo could do the exact same thing to Floyd. Donaire will never be Floyd level and I doubt Guillermo will either.

He out landed Cordoba 2-1, and KD him down a few times. What fight were you watching???

You need to learn how boxing works. Floyd wouldn't push the pace for ****. He'd get cold ****ed in the mouth, and probably KD a few times for trying to fight like he did against Ortiz. Rigo is the faster and more powerful fighter. Rigo would hit him clean in their exchanges, and Floyd damn sure wouldn't like what's coming back.

Stop **** riding Floyd like you always do.

And correction, Floyd never utterly outclassed anyone that was a p4p elite fighter, with elite counter punching, that could KO you with 1 shot. All his fights against p4ps were past prime fighters, and tailor made opponents.

Rigo would beat a 130 Floyd. You keep saying, "do you know how good Floyd was at 130." The answer is yes, and Rigo is better.
