Ignoring all the nonsense in the thread, this is simply two absolute masters of this sport.

The technique is beyond advanced, it's a joy to watch.

Floyd is also much bigger than Rigondeaux....of course he's going to look a little slower.

Bottom line....Floyd has just as good a defense in his peak, is more offensive minded even though he's defensive, and is way way way better fighting on the inside. I've yet to see Rigondeaux adapt against someone.

I mean we're comparing someone with 2-3 good wins against someone with like 15-16 good wins.

Even if Floyd never did another thing in the sport, he'll be greater than Rigondeaux because he dominated and was on top for 14-15 years.

Great point. Imagine what his speed and reflexes were like in his 20's?

How many world titles would he have, how many weight divisions would he have titles in and where would he be pound for pound if he had the luxury of turning pro at a young age, having his career professionally managed and having favorable matchmaking? All we can do is speculate.

Rigo is P4P #1?
That's the point bud. He's not showing his mastery against a can. He utterly outclassed a prime, p4p elite fighter, that many felt COULD have been #1-3 P4P.

What he did was truly epic. I know it's a shock to your system, but sooner or later you'll learn.

When has Rigo had to adapt against someone? He's that good. He doesn't have to adapt to you, you have to adapt to him. He's a master boxer that FORCES you to fight his fight. He just went up against the best p4p fighter in his weight class, and utterly outclassed him, and MADE him fight his fight. Guys don't GO AT Rigo, because he has a bazooka attached to his arm. Another difference between him and Floyd. The power difference is immense for Rigo.

He didn't exactly adapt against Cordoba, where he struggled greatly. And don't tell me, it was his early fights, because everyone likes to bring up he's got a ton of experience.

Mayweather has utterly out classed people on the pro level for 15 years now, and many were in the Top 10 P4P at the times he did as well.

We can't compare the two. Rigondeaux has insane reflexes, but I swear people forget how good Floyd was at 130 lbs from 1998-2001 where he was dominating. The only close fight Floyd has was against Jose Luis Castillo, who......is definitely a notch above Ricardo Cordoba. Castillo is the best Lightweight if his era.

All we can do is speculate because Rigondeaux turned pro pushing 30. But he'll never get to the point where people rank him with Floyd as an ATG, because Floyd has a pro career, won titles against top ranked fighters in 5 weight classes, was P4P for at least 15 years now.

I mean......a week ago Rigondeaux was supposedly hype with a suspect chin, and because he beat Donaire and got one really good win, he's P4P #1 and greater than Floyd Mayweather???

I love Rigondeaux, he's one of my favorites, but this is getting ridiculous now.
