Rigo stood in the middle of the ring in the early rounds. Donaire could barely touch him. When he did, Guillermo smacked him in the snotbox so hard Nonito would back right the fuck off. Why do you think it took so long for Donaire to even attempt to push the fight? He felt that power and toned it right down. Nonito even makes reference to that in this otherwise silly interview. Donaire didn't really try to exert himself until the late rounds, when it was already too late. He was on the verge of getting KOed himself in the final round.
LMAO! @ Donaire claiming he could have "outboxed" Rigo and won that way instead of doing whatever it was he did. Donaire tried everything and failed. He even shortened up his punches at one point a la Joe Calzaghe just to try and touch Rigo and missed every pitty pat shot he threw. Donaire is humiliating himself.

What we saw on Saturday night was a supreme talent in Rigondeaux elevate his game versus a high talent in Donaire. Guillermo hasn't always looked so amazing against lesser opposition; but he did what all the greats do: rise versus worthy opposition. Nonito, on the other hand, shrank before "El Chacal." I was as surprised as most to see this spectacle. But it happened, and everyone saw it. There's no denying it.
