Lol so i guess trying to out box rigo is the way to go like donaire did. When donaire finally decided to presure and go for broke he dropped rigo. Non stop presure is the way to beat rigo aint no way to outbox him.

122 or 126? Mares is a big boy (for Rigo), even at 122 let alone 126. At 122 Rigondeaux takes it easily, maybe even by stoppage. At 126 it would still give it to Rigo, but it might be more competitive.

          Rigo vs Mares

Rigo will also school Mares the same way he did Nonito.

I seen Mares frustrated before and he becomes a "B" fighter when they get to him and that is where unlike the other boxers Rigo will really step in.

          Rigo by clear unanimous decision!

I don't think the answer is to simply apply non-stop pressure, that would be foolish. Nonito had the size to pressure, but not the mentality. It's the other way around with Mares. Mares simply does not have the stature nor the power, and even he will tire at some point and have to rejuvenate by taking a round off. He needs to be dynamic and change the tempo on a dime, but not allow himself to lose his composure offensively. He could pressure non-stop against Moreno because he wasn't afraid of what was coming back at him. I can't see that being the case with Rigo.

Mares's team would have to come up with a hell of a game-plan.

He got KD because he reached for a clinch when he should have moved away, the only mistake he made all night. The pressure Mares put on Moreno, with those looping shots, that will not work on Rigo. He'll eat 1-2's just like Marroquin did.

He didn't reach, he actually clinched. He had Donaire wrapped while Donaire had his forearm on Rigo's neck. I was expecting a break and I'm guessing Rigo did too (that's the feeling must of us got anyway) but made a silly mistake and forgot about protect yourselves at all times. He paid for it. Its cool tho cause he wasn't even affected by the KD and squashed all the chin questions.

I do agree with the rest of your post tho. Mares will definitely eat some body shots too IMO. That will slow him down for sure.

I don't think people STILL fully comprehend Rigo's abilities and his punching power. To drop someone as big as Marroquin and to be pushing back Donaire (who he also stunned) means something.

rigo would do what he did to him in the amateurs but worse.........

it will be the 2nd beating mares would receive from rigo.

Then he can call Rigo daddy along with Donaire.
