Dan Rafael labeled Hopkins/Cloud "Mastery of Craft" but Rigo "boring"

And he found the fight boring, why are people so obsessed with every word he said and his opinion. I dont see anything at all wrong with calling it boring. There was very little in terms of exchanges and action
Its whatever tho. I just think when you're involved in the sport like he is should be able to appreciate every style (excet Vasquez lol).

I just think its wrong for a writer to criticize a fighter and a fight like he did. He could've waited and put it on his article in much less "harsh" words.

Dan Rafael just made a damn fool of himself.
He's supposed to be a boxing expert and be explaining the intricacies of the fight game to the causal fan instead he comes off as a casual fan.
In my opinion they should only place former fighters or trainers to talk about boxing. This guy Rafael is one of the problems with the fight game today.Comment

I don't mind him criticizing the fight or Rigo but when you criticize one of the most anticipated fights for the past year the way he did it makes you sound unprofessional. Like I said, he could've wrote an article and criticized it in a less harsher way.
I wonder what he thought of Martinez vs Chavez... That fight had more action and I thoroughly enjoyed the beating Chavez took but that fight WAS boring as ****. If that makes sense...
Let's just say I enjoyed Donaire vs Rigo more than Martinez vs Chavez and not cause I'm Cuban.

Look at it in context. You have the top 2 guys at 122 fighting, and in the fight compubox shows Rigo averaged 10 of 33 and Donaire 6 of 29
When jr featherweights are throwing under 35 punches a round, odds are its going to be a boring fight. Even heavyweights are usually busier than that......Comment

Chavez-Martinez was boring as hell as well, it was a very similar fight with martinez using movement to keep Chavez confused. But at least he threw punches. Last nights fight has stretches where neither guy did anything for several roundsComment

Did you not see his tweets during the fight man? They were on another thread. Btw notice I said harsh between quotations, just for a lack of better word.
PS I'm not quoting you cause the quoting system on this app sucks and makes things confusing at times.

I read the name Dan Rafael before I saw him. Once I saw him I was like I'd only listen to him if he was a food critic.Comment

It was boring!!!! Rigo had Donaire mentally beat in the 9th on and never stepped it up until he saw Donaire whimper from his eye injury! This is a game of chances and to take a chance to stop a fighter when he's hurt is how you make fans! Playing it safe for the "sake of sceince" just gets ****** at times because its NOT just boxing its fighting that sells tickets. Ala MMA!
If Rigo can't get in and mix it up more often he won't sell tickets its as simple as that!! He makes Mayweather look like LaMotta hahashaha!!!
Fighters like Wilfred Benitez and Jimmy Young were very skilled also but neither of them were main event caliber on their names alone! Neither was willing to "make the fight" so they needed the top guys to fight to earn the better purse!
I know Rigo has high skills but I didn't need to watch 12 boring rounds against a guy like Donaire who didn't even train for the fight! Screw him!!!
I'm not spending my money to watch "track" at a "fight"! Ray.Comment
