hes terrible, especially since he works for ESPN who only like to talk about floyd and pac, he shouldnt be talking about how the fight was boring and rigo was running. Hes clueless
Dan Rafael labeled Hopkins/Cloud "Mastery of Craft" but Rigo "boring"

I never did put to mug merit into what he has to say. When your known as Fat Dan around the boxing world, it's really hard to take him seriously and listen to what he has to say. But I agree, some one should call him out and see the reactionComment

Yet this guy claims he's not bias?
He said Mayweather/Cotto was a "barnburner" and "one of the most exciting fights of Mayweather's career" yet Rigo damaging and schooling a Top 3 P4P fighter "boring".
These are the authorities we have to rely on for the sport? Guys who don't seem to appreciate the sweet science's purest practitioners? That bugs me.
If you don't appreciate defensive, counter-punchers, fine.
But...
1. Be consistent with that criticism. Dan would never label Mayweather/Hopkins/Ward as "boring" because he wants access to them. Give Rigo the same respect.
and
2. Don't label them as "boring" because guess what? Some of us actually enjoy watching guys like Rigo demonstrate superior skill and technique to mentally break down guys. That's exactly what he did...again....to a Top 3 P4P guy.
Disgusted by the treatment Rigo has got.
Like I sai earlier I don't follow this guy so can I ask who is he biased towards?Comment

Two things -
1: The quality of the opponent you beat doesn't make a fight more or less exciting, its just a better win when a fighter is better.
2: He's expressing an opinion, he can't write "I personally found it boring but other people may not have" all the time to stop people from getting upset. Plenty of boxing writers said the fight was dull, as have many fans. It was a great win, but it wasn't Hagler - Hearns. Now, can everyone stop making threads complaining about people calling the fight boring? If you enjoyed it, great. If someone else didn't, so what?Comment

Fat boy is a joke.
He is extremely biased and bitter. If it's a Klitschko, Donaire or one of his other favourites, all objectivity goes out the window.Comment

His score card was also terrible. I never understand why people give a fighter a round because they are "pressing the action". Are they landing clean effective punches or are they not? That's the bottom line. Rigo was moving all over and tagging Nonito with clean, crisp shots. Nonito was either walking forward and hitting air or not throwing at all. It seems like some "journalists" were giving Donaire rounds because he was walking forward, which is utterly absurd.
I thought Rigondeaux gave a MASTERFUL boxing performance and made a guy with a high skill level look completely clueless in the ring. I enjoyed the fight.Comment

Why are people so upset that people are calling this fight boring? First of all it's an opinion, second of all just because its between 2 top opponents doesnt make it very exciting. There was very little action at times, where neither guy threw or landed any punches for minutes, even rounds at a time. The "excitement" of this fight came from anticipation of something happening, not from the in ring action. Whats the difference between this is Floyd-Baldimor, which is universally considered extremely boring?Comment
