last night wasn't a good look for garcia.
donaire can't be entering a fight with the best boxer he's ever faced while being "trained" over the telephone.
they never once looked like they were on the page. garcia wasn't even the one talking in the corner at times.
i wouldn;t be surprised if donaire hops trainers and takes a tune up to learn something new and make a statement (for himself, mostly, a trainer and six months to a year isn't going to help him beat rigo. if he can't land a huge punch he'll get outboxed again,)

exposed. i've been looking forward to the chaos in the advent of a rigo victory for some time now. here's a good start.
he didn't even train nonito for that fight.
it wasn't a good look, but that's not even a robert garcia trained fighter. you can't train somebody over the phone. i don't even know the name of the guy who was training with him in the gym.
i wouldnt be surprised to see donaire jump ship, though. a world class fighter needs a trainer for at least 6 weeks. the rest is basically conditioning, which you don't need a "boxing" coach for at this stage. they'll do it for nonito's psyche more than anything else. it's also an excuse to rebuild.

donaire won his clearest round(s)(besides kd rd) with the circling jab and right upperhook to catch rigo's head as rigo ducked, caught rigo about 5 times in a row in one rd before rigo adjusted
but as soon as rigo did adjust and started throwing uppercuts instead of ducking, it only actually took about 2 before donaire again adjusted to another approach and never went back to that, instead decided on that right to the body left to the head hop technique, which is what walked him into the eye poker punch
the last round i think donaire mentally folded abit and made an excuse for himself like "my eye is too hurt guys, i can't fight properly now", he should have went balls to the wall on the last roundLast edited by SplitSecond; 04-14-2013, 08:39 AM.
