Not even close, they wanted a hometown fight for Sergio's Argentinian fans and what better opponent than a British? Murray fits the bill.

I wonder how many people are clueless about the Falklands or Argentina's history with the UK.

tell the truth, Martinez is on his way out and it makes sense to milk whatever is left of him. No one wanted to watch Martinez vs Murray in the US, hence they decided to let him fight in Argentina

Ishida lost 3 of his last 5, with one of his wins vs. a fighter making his debut........

      Pretty much, LOL

True & I like both GGG & Sergio......

The idea is that 3G has a lot of hype behind him amongst hardcore types but the public doesn't know much about him. With another couple of HBO headlines under his belt, this is the kind of fight that can be a PPV and do mega numbers, not just a regular HBO event.

It is already being looked at as THE FIGHT at 160 but why waste it's earning potential on a regular HBO event when it could be a big PPV?
Let's hope it doesn't turn out like Gamboa/Juanma.....

IDK about GGG, but Ward? Stop sniffing paint......

Saying that Golovkin, an exciting fighter thats been on HBO multiple times and that the fans love, is a fight that "doesn't make economic sense" is the EXACT SAME ARGUMENT Arum used to avoid putting Cotton and Chavez in there with Martinez.

Im the biggest Martinez fan around, but i think its time to accept that Team Martinez is ducking fighters the same way certain fighters were ducking him a few years ago.

I am too, but if don't make $$$$, it don't make sense......

He was waiting for Chavez - was he supposed to just sit around?

Why did he erupt like that?: because he KNOWS the reporter is right.

The way they are ducking GGG is exactly in line with how Martinez was being ducked earlier in his career.

When a reporter is actually talking nonsense any athlete, promoter, or anyone will just smirk and cleverly explain why it isn't true. When a reporter exposes the truth, THAT's when you see that type of emotional reaction.
Maybe he saw how he handled Proska, whose style is very similar to Sergio's - I'm just saying.......

DiBella can't see beyond his beloved Newww Jerrswweyy neighbourhood. Meanwhile, in Hamburg, Frakfurt and London boxers are making better money.

Golvokin brings some of that serious European money to the table and millions of casual fans across the world will make a date for this fight and gladly pay to watch it.

Martinez should dump DiBella, he's a dinosaur.
