They wanted Sergio to fight in Russia though for the Pirog fight. If he didn't get a KO or stoppage, he wasn't going to get the decision. Martinez has packed a 45,000 seat stadium in Argentina fighting this "bum" and the fight sold out in like a week. He is also making like 2 million or something in this fight.....I think. The idea is that 3G has a lot of hype behind him amongst hardcore types but the public doesn't know much about him. With another couple of HBO headlines under his belt, this is the kind of fight that can be a PPV and do mega numbers, not just a regular HBO event.

It is already being looked at as THE FIGHT at 160 but why waste it's earning potential on a regular HBO event when it could be a big PPV?

I hate it when a fighter gets the "you bring no money to the table" treatment for years and then does the same thing to others when they blow. Best fight at 160 is GGG vs Sergio.
