With Donaire I always felt he was an incredibly athletic fighter with huge punching power. Never saw the boxing skills that people such as Max Kellerman would go on and on about, and it showed tonight, albeit against a hell of a fighter.

Yes I have... Rigo just put on a Floyd vs Corrales level performance against a top 5 p4p fighter.

Rigo is just that good, he makes everyone look like a nobody.
More like if he took more chances or if he didn't come into the ring out weighing Rigo, then yes murdered.

He can still be anyone not named Rigondeaux's daddy from 122 to 126 tho so i think he's flaws are eclipsed by those athletic gifts and punching power you speak of.

Precisely. He didn't do it to some come forward, face first brawler. He did it to a speed freak, power puncher, with very good boxing abilities. A fuggin top 5 P4P fighter.

Rigo is as bad as he wanna be.

whats funny is u think Floyd wouldn't have done the same thing to donaire. he would have. eve if u say rigo is a very good technician, which is true, one fight is nowhere near enough to prove hes a cut above peak Floyd. the whole thing is silly. u aren't eve saying they are in the same class, u are arguing hes a cut above. I don't see that at all.

The flaws have always been blinding to me but I think a lot of people are hugely influenced by big punchers. Again that isn't to say he isn't skilled or anything but hes pretty flawed and it really showed tonight. Rigondeaux fought a brilliant fight I don't want to take anything away from him as its a great win and an incredible fate for only his 12th pro fight.

I still can't get my head around how so many expected Donaire to actually outbox Rigondeaux & Donaires rather hilarious comment of how Rigondeaux is apparently one dimensional!

How would he? He's a WW.

And how would we even know? He's never faced a fighter like Donaire. A prime P4P fighter that's elite in everything.

Please don't try and call his boxing rudimentary, just because Rigo toyed with him.

Floyd couldn't even do it to Oscar... Couldn't do it to Judah... couldn't do it to Ortiz...

I am really reaching for examples though, because Floyd has never fought anyone even close to Donaire's level anywhere close to their prime.

Also Rigondeaux is 32. He is already past his prime... If you thought Rigo looked good tonight, you should have seen him when he was 24-25-26...

Hes a good fighter, a very good fighter who can bounce back but he has always been overrated. When I say overrated I don't mean hes a garbage fighter, I mean hes not as good as hes made out or people are lead to believe.
A lot has been careful matchmaking against guys that are absolutely made for him.

Rigondeaux made the guy look ordinary. Like I said before and got laughed at, hes two levels above Donaire. Nobody south of 126 is touching that. This was a good world class fighter against an elite fighter. He was totally out of his depth.
the only problem i have with you is that most of your fav fighters are inferior fighters to nonito tho ...i dont know how one could hate on a silver when he represent dog ****...exept rigo obviously ....it's hypocritical to me tbh...
