Could you spout anymore ******ity? You think this is some ****** system where if you beat an all time great once you should ignore all of their previous fights, records, accomplishments and how much they draw to the sport, and then split the purse 60/40 in favour of the lesser accomplished?

Rofl, no, just no. The only people who expect Marquez to get close to what Pacquaio earns are Marquez fans or people who haven't got a clue about how money works in boxing.

Marquez should get a couple of million (3-5 max) added on and that's it.

I think JMM should get 50-50, but the discrepancy in terms of drawing power is massive, way bigger than the difference between Manny and Floyd.

Just compare the two of them on Google Trends to get a sense of the difference in global renown (http://www.google.com/trends/explore...2%2012m&cmpt=q)

In the US, the gap is just as big (http://www.google.com/trends/explore...2%2012m&cmpt=q)

In business terms I can't see it happening. There should definitely be compromise but 50-50 doesn't look like a realistic outcome.

I'd love to see this backfire on him and he ends up fighting a different fighter for a small purse then losing. Marquez isn't a big seller by himself, where as Floyd and Manny are. That's the difference.
Who is Pacquiao going to fight that will make him as much money as Marquez?

You want a shot at avenging a loss that was supposed to settle things once and for all, then i hope youll at least treat him as an equal while you go for that opportunity.

Just because Marquez may be Pacquaios biggest 'known' payday at the time doesn't mean a 50/50 split is deserved. Put it this way, whomever Pacquaio fights will pretty surely sell more than whomever Marquez fights unless it's Mayweather.

Pacquaio can fight different people and still walk away with a big purse, Marquez on the other hand cannot. Marquez will be taking a financial risk if he decides to fight someone else, especially if he loses.

Marquez should get a pay increase, but not even remotely close to 50/50, that's crazy.

If it's a 50-50 split, Pacquiao could probably make almost as much fighting another TR name like Rios, Alvarado, or Bradley. That's assuming those fights do approx. 700K buys like Manny-Bradley did, and Manny-JMM 5 does around 1.2M. Obviously that's because Manny can demand a major split in his favour against those other opponents.

Therein lies the problem. For JMM vs Bradley, you'd be looking at 500K as really good numbers, maybe even unrealistically optimistic. A 70-30 split in JMM's favour, even then, would net him less than a 30% split in the Pacquiao fight. Even an 80-20 split in his favour would fall substantially short of a 40% split against Manny.

*** PEDs head Marquez, let him fight for peanuts again vs Bradley. Or whomever, And he'll lose too, Chris John all over again at 40.

Bradley fight should not be even ppv.

Wrong but nice try. That ship sailed but Marquez on the other hand deserves 50
