He probably did weigh 170 but since he is a GBP fighter they were protecting him and lowered his real weight by 7lbs.

That's a completely different and depressing subject. I'm not going to defend this move, believe me. It just doesn't infuriate me like it does others, because I don't care about belts like others care.

GBP is doing something good for the fans by having unification fights. But because of the WBC there is the potential that one of the belts will be left vacant and that one of Arum's fighters will be in a position to swoop in and pick it up.

Since Arum generally refuses to make matchups with GBP's champions why would GBP give him the chance to pick up one of the belts so easily?

This is a completely messed up state of affairs in boxing but I can actually see how HBO and Top Rank might be involved in this decision.

Swap Lucas and Lamont for Donaire and Rigo, GBP for Arum, SHO for HBO, and make the fight at 123 pounds.....and let's see if Dempsey Rollin, Shoulder Roll, Kev et all would be so philosophical about it. These guys would be calling Arum the devil.

I don't hold stocks in belts either but you can't just shrug your shoulders when something so blatantly shady is being done in front of your eyes.
