Why cannot people pronounce "Rigondeaux" correctly?

    Can you actually decide how to pronounce your own name though.

    I mean if your name is Craig you can't just decide its pronounced kreg.

    So just because someone says that's how my name is pronounced doesnt make it right and I will produce it how it's supposed to be.

      Craig and Kreg make the exact same sound though.

        My names Andrew andI tell people to say my name like Aund-ray-wih. No problems so far.

                people who speak english are used to pronouncing sh#t wrong. we do it in constancy.

                our spelling system is all over the place. if you spell a word in spanish it is almost always spelled exactly how it sounds, with the accent on a certain sylable and all.

                in english you have to hear the word first. there's just no way to know how to pronounce some words. the result? we butcher words and names, and we don't care about it.
