The thread starter is the biggest Donaire hater on here... Its pretty sad he has to bring Nonito up cause WV2 lost. Im a big fan of Rigondeaux's talent and skills, but its hard to root for the guy when you have douche bags like the thread starter who takes any and every moment to try and discredit Donaire any chance he gets. Get a life!

But Mathebula and Nishioka were good wins at the time. People were calling for Donaire to fight Nishioka, he did and beat him. Yes, Nishioka was past his best days, doesn't change that he was a good fight going in. It's similar to Mayweather-Mosley to me, only Mosley is better than Nishioka and was P4P at the time.

I have to say I didn't think Donaire would fight Rigondeaux, but I said he had to fight either Rigondeaux or Mares before leaving 122 and he's doing that. Should be interesting.

      That is a fair comment.
Nishioka is a great name to have on your record but he was done & I've always said he caught him at the right time. I feel he didn't look very good prior to his semi-retirement/inactivity.

I give Donaire props for chasing that fight & I give him props for taking this fight but his 2012 run is looking worse & worse.

Who has Arce or Vasquez Jr ever beaten? Arce's best win is Vasquez Jr.
Vasquez Jrs best win is Oquendo a guy who was struggling with journeymen that both Marroquinn and Rigondeaux absolutely wrecked!
Look, I'll give you Arce. He was just the name though. It was a true cherry pick of a name at the end. The other two were top rated champions, all higher rated and more tested than Rigo's.

Arce's best win Vasquez? He's got quite a lot of good wins as good and better than Vasquez. Rosendo Alvarez, Lorrenzo Parra, Yo Sam Choi, Cob Castro, Castillo, Cordoba, Singsurat, Garcia and Nongqayi.

Take your pick. They are all champions and I'm sure I'm missing some.

didn't you agree that "Nishioka was a G" before he fought donaire .. but now he's this lousy win on donaire's resume...fact is Nishioka was the real WBC champ (mares being the paper champ) and he had the deepest resume at 122 compared to both rigo and mares..so arguably his #1 spot was justified...

if donaire beats rigo he will have cleaned out the 122 division...

Nishioka was/is a good win. However, even that was slightly tainted in that Nishioka only came back for a payday. He had decided to retire, but basically came back for that last payday. Still, he would have beaten most not named Donaire.

                Let's just wait though.

I wouldn't go that far. Milan Melindo is an excellent young and slick boxer. He also won today as well.

Just putting things is perspective. You like to discredit Rigo's opposition, the reality is his opposition hasn't been much worse than Donaires, if any really.

His wins are looking alright about now, Donaires not so much.

Most of Donaires wins only look decent because of name value. I legitimately believe Cordoba is at least on their level.

Cordoba beat a prime Sydorenko twice (robbed) & smashed apart a prime Caballero.

how so? wasn't it nishioka's idea to take a year off rather than facing donaire in early 2012?
