JMM is simply way too big for John. John should take on Nonito Donaire after he ko's Rigo next Saturday if he's looking for a decent payday. Arum could even stage it in China and put that Shimimg fella on the undercard.

Great Post!, a lot people here didn't watch the fight, or biased Mexicans, or jumped on the Marquez bandwagon. Plenty of revisionist speak going on when the truth is that Marquez has problems with other counterpunchers. This Chris John victory deserves more credit than Mayweather's, when the bigger stronger fighter let the smaller JMM come forward and be the aggressor, something that he isn't great at.I just watched it again and the first point deduction was dubious (borderline blow). Then came another clear low blow, for which Marquez was not penalised. Then, in the 11th, Marquez went low again and he deserved a points' deduction that time. But the deductions made no difference to the outcome. Even without them John would have won by four points (twice) and two points. What John did brilliantly was nullify Marquez's counter-punching skills with his speed, and he kept on parrying his attacks. He definitely landed more punches than Marquez, although they weren't as heavy. It was definitely a close fight but excluding the low blows, John edged it by one or two points. It wasn't a robbery. And, by the way, Freddie Norwood was another who clearly beat Marquez. There were no arguments about that one.Comment

Of course the new juiced up on PEDs Marquez would win now. Het Marquez of the juice and many boxers will knock the old man into retirement easily. Marquez if ur reading, take note. Think of someone's life more than ur selfish need to be a false champ!Comment

Chris John is everything that's wrong with boxing. He fought Marquez SEVEN EFFING YEARS AGO and has fought nobody remotely in his class since. His best opponent in seven years since was Rocky Juarez and he has "defended" his paper title against an assortment of mostly C level opponents. Meanwhile top featherweights have come and gone and John/his promoter haven't shown a lick of interest. His latest opponent lost a one-sided decision to Cabellero less than two years ago and hasn't beaten anyone since. Perfect opponent for John to keep padding his padded recordComment
