No chance, it just doesn't work like that. Nobody in boxing sells 1m without Pac and Floyd, and both wouldn't be close without DLH. Despite his ability, Ward is not box office due to his style and lack of name challengers (hence interest in Chavez). And to make this fight legit on paper, GGG would need to be p4p himself, which he's nowhere close to. To get there he'd either have to beat Martinez, or a whole bunch of contenders.

Dre reminds me of Hopkins back in the late 90s when he was calling out all the marquee names at 147 and 154. If you want a challenge, Ward, how about YOU MOVE UP in weight yourself?

The situation I presented is after (if) GGG beat Sergio and is the undisputed champion . I am sure that fight would've hit 1 mil, wasn't GGG against Rosado the most watched fight the night they fought? Come on when he'll KO Macklin (which I think he will) and beat MW king, he'll be along with Broner HBO biggest star. Floyd's and Pac's era is coming to the end, Floyd got his number beacuse he was undefeated (despite boring style) and being American and (what is most important) loud mouth, Pac got his numbers beacuse of his fan friendly offensive style. This is the new era, Floyd and Pac are on their way to retirment, Canelo, GGG and Broner are the future PPV stars.

Huge difference between 1m on "free" HBO, and 1m on PPV at 60+ a pop.

Was Floyd or Pac first fights on PPV?

No but both were p4p top 2 when they couldnt break 400k buys vs household names like Morales and Judah, or any time before DLH.

Fighting Jr makes sense cuz it's a pretty good money fight. Golovkin is a better fight right now but he'll say that it doesn't make sense. It's all about money for Ward now. I ain't mad at him but his fans can't try say anything different cuz it's just foolish to do so.
