Arum said the stuff about Showtime a long time ago, basically since he took Manny back to HBO he hasn't been messing with Showtime which makes sense since they probably felt played in that ordeal. So Arum spins it around blames a guy they hired, instead of his own dealings for a soured relationship. Now I am sure that dude has a good relationship with GBP making it easy to make those deals but does that mean that Arum can't make deal with the guy~

I still don't get why HBO said what they said, because they had Top Rank over a barrel with no where else to go thus could have leveraged what GBP was selling them against Top Rank even if they didn't want to use it. HBO gave away that leverage for nothing with that statement, hell even if they intended on never doing business with GBP don't say it publicly and let both sides take the time to figure out the deal themselves by which time they would be way ahead in the game.

Business is business~ HBO seems to have forgot that rule.

Stop! Rios v Alvarado ok but Provo was put in there to lose. No one saw that coming abd if you say you did your lying. Ill even say that Alvarado was put in there to lose to "hype" Rios up. Other than that...

The split between HBO and Golden Boy happened just 2 weeks ago. If that's the only thing stopping Donaire vs. Mares then why didn't Arum make the fight months back when this wasn't an issue yet?

Anytime there's a positive forward process that could be made, Arum will ALWAYS continue to move the goal posts. Nothing has changed here, only now the split between the two promoters has been widened by the split in which network can be used. It's pathetic, and it only serves for even MORE excuses on behalf of Bob Arum and Top Rank of why he has to keep all of their fights in-house.

i keep hearing this but who exactly are they fighting? Canelo's just fighting a legit contender, broner doesn't fight anyone, money may may be money may, but who is guerrero? And people may ***** about arum all they want, but he just gave us pac vs jmm, bradley vs prov, chavez vs martinez, rios vs alvarado etc... What has gbp given us? Canelo vs lopez?

he had no choice but to give us those fights ,they are all top rank fighters. Top rank only has inhouse fights

"Golden Boy" tried everything possible to make this fight & "scumbag" Arum didn't want to hear it!! Now that he knows there's some "Static" between "Golden Boy" & "HBO", Arum says he'll do the fight as long as it's on HBO..He's always making these moves to try to make it seem like he wants to do the fight when he actually doesn't!!
