great news, someone had to man up eventually, respect to macklin. After Golovkin stops macklin maybe we can see golovkin v Martinez that's what I want to see anyway.

There is no excuse about Macklin's shape, cuz he had a full training camp before fighting Alcine (or whoever). The fight didn't last long which means he was not exhausted and didn't need to recover at all.
It doesn't matter in what form he gonna be, in any case he has no chance to win. In fact none in the MW division is able to compete with GGG.
Then what is 3G going to do after he beats everyone at MW? Is he going to stay at 160, move down to 154, up to 168 or retire?

After cleaning out the MW division he would definetely either move down or move up in a search for a big fights. But at the same time he won't give up of his MW titles.

I see Golovkin doing some serious damage to Macklin.
Yeah I fear for Macklin a little bit. He's too brave for his own good. I don't think the imitation of a counter-puncher he produced against Sergio would do him much good against a brute like Golovkin, but what are his alternatives really. He tries to wade in against Gennady and it could all be over very quickly.

              ^This.

I love Macklin and he's been one of my favourite domestic fighters since his losing effort against Jamie Moore, but i just cant see any game plan thats going to work for him in this fight.

Imagine if he tried to reproduce the strategy from that night? That knockout was brutal enough, frightening to think what someone like Golovkin might do to him in those circumstances.

I'm not there was any strategy that night tbh!

But yeah agree again. I'm not actually sure if this fight goes past mid way, but i suppose it depends on how Macklin's chin is and how brave his trainer/the ref is...
