He might have won clear (as in clear 3-2), but looked a bit vulnerable. Not a knock on him, I know his opponent is excellent and a tough matchup for him.

He's basically fighting pro 5 rounders against far superior comp than he'd be fighting in the pros. Look at the US Olympians, the garbage they've been fighting.

Well the US olympians were complete garbage themselves (James Toneys actual words), it's just that now they are fighting club fighters.

Even journeyman level pro's would be a better test for these guys

which is why he needs a pro level team. that wasnt a fight he should have been taking rite now. applauds to him for doing it, but he needs to be built as a professional and that wsb stuff may not be the way to go.

I bet 3-4 of those guys win legit titles, or better. I know it's not a safe bet based on recent record.

Yeah, can't say I understand what drives him. Supposedly he'll turn pro after this season is complete, which should be soon.

He'll be able to fight 6 rounders against respectable opposition right from the start of his pro career and be moved as fast or faster than Rigo. That's a good thing. Same goes for Usyk who just scored a shutout against arguably the best Superheavyweight amateur Medzhidov in spite of moving up a division and giving away over 30lbs.

depends. the whole point of fighting 3 rounders against weak opposition is to build confidence. ppl may pan those fights but they serve a purpose. fighting 6 rounders against ppl uve fought in the ams, esp ones u have had tough fights with before can damage a fighters confidence and it can also give a skewed view of the professional rankings. i think hed be better off going a more traditional path. i guess it depends on who u ask tho.

Everyone knew he would be tested in this fight, if you know their history then it wouldn't surprise you that selimov pushed lomanchenko all the way.
