I wouldn't call the WBA middleweight title "nothing".

What about Quillin? He's not a big star (GGG is starting to become more famous than Quillin in the US) and he doesn't have big money fights lined up.

    What about Macklin? Barker?

Promoters won't let their fighters get in the ring with GGG because he's high risk-low reward.

Oosthuizen and Rodriguez were offered to fight GGG at 168. You're the one who's spewing BS here because you don't bother to get your facts straight.
1st Titles are total garbage, which WBA would you be speaking of the WBA "super" "regular" "Interim". Zauerbek Baysangurov has a title at 154 but that doesn't mean much. titles aren't what they used to be.

in the case of Lee, Macklin and or Barker. Macklin fight be fight Chavez. that's a bigger money fight. Barker might fight Lee and that's a bigger money fight. I'd love to see the best fight the best but it is called prize fighting. what Vera and Rubio aren't good enough? even Carlos Molina at 154 is willing to up and fight him. so let not act like nobody wants to fight him.

    about the 164 catchweight

Edwin Rodriguez is preparing to participate in a super middleweight tournament consisting of 4 fighters, beginning March 30th when Rodriguez steps in the ring with Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna. That same night Zolt Erdei will square off against Denis Grachev, with the winners meeting in July. The finalist will compete for a million dollar purse with

“I would love to [fight Gennady], his team and promotional company send me a contract to fight at 164lbs and next day they say I have to be 10lbs off. "

    http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/p...-no-go-for-now

"No opponent is set, but two names are under discussion: super middleweight contenders Thomas Oosthuizen (20-0-1, 13 KOs) and Edwin Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KOs), both of whom are promoted by Lou DiBella. South Africa's Oosthuizen, a 6-foot-4 handful of a southpaw, would have to get through a Nov. 10 fight against Fulgencio Zuniga to stay in the running.

If Golovkin faces either of them, they would meet at a catchweight of about 165 pounds".

sorry man but those are the facts. my bad for being off by ONE pound.

what I'm saying is sure Golovkin isn't getting fights with the top guys but he isn't fighting the guys nobody else wants to fight either.

take Sergio Martinez for example, he took the 1st Williams fight on short notice at 160. maybe you don't remember but almost NOBODY wanted anything to do with Williams at 147 to 160.

as of right now GGG is running off a good amatuer career and a lot of hype. he's KOing bums, so what. I want to see him tested that's all. and getting your "regular" title by beating Nilson Julio Tapia doesnt really make you an actual champ.

he could be great or he could be a bust, all I'm saying is I want know what's up and I doubt we'll ever find that out against a guy like Ishida

Vera just said that recently, within the past 12 hours

but before that he wanted to fight GGG

you see he has a new manage now and that makes the difference

it's at the bottom of the artice if you want to read it

Middleweight contender Bryan Vera (22-6) is just days away from facing Donatas Bondorovas (17-3) on this week's edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights. The fight takes place in Verona, NY. Vera spoke to us on BoxingScene Radio and said that he is already almost on weight. "I had a great training camp. Great sparring. We are just making weight. I've only got a few pounds to go. Everything is good," Vera said. Vera fought just two months ago when he defeated Serhiy Dzinziruk in January in another fight televised by ESPN. The 31-year-old said that his team wanted him to get one more fight in before he goes of one of the big names in the division.

I like Ishida. Great Rocky type story after the Kirkland fight. They had to find a guy in the audience who spoke Japanese just so they can interview Ishida, and then that guy is one of the corner men starting with his next fight. How cool is that. I know the story, nearly all of us think GGG wins this, though I doubt it'll be a blowout. But wouldn't it be amazing if we saw Kirkland/Ishida II?

3G has pretty big back muscles and a solid core area. Some guys taper off towards the waist but 3G has a square frame which gives him a great center of gravity.

I actually think this height difference could present problems for 3G....I don't this will be a quick KO. If Ishida can get his jab going, he might be able to trouble 3G a bit.

He could make it a miserably boring and frustrating fight for GGG. But I doubt it.

Middleweight is an intriguing division at the moment. Lots of very good fighters and for once the talent is spread evenly across the promotional companies and not concentrated in GBP and Top Rank. The fights might actually get made...
