Comments Thread For: Haye: My Comeback is Not Like That of Ricky Hatton

DAVID HAYE says his latest comeback will not end in tears like Ricky Hatton’s ring return in November.

The Hayemaker will face an opponent, yet to be confirmed, at the Manchester Arena on June 29 in the first of two fights this year.

Haye, 32, hopes back-to-back wins will get him in a mandatory position to face either WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali, 41, or his younger brother Wladimir, 37, who holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

It will be Haye’s first fight since he stopped fellow Londoner Dereck Chisora in July last year – following their brawl at a post-fight press conference earlier in 2012.

Haye, who first retired in 2011 after his points loss to Wladimir, insisted he would only fight again if it was against a Klitschko.

      Well obviously.

Haye fought only a year ago and is in shape 365.

32, just turned in december so yeah he's not old at all really, not many miles on the clock either as he's never really taken much punishment even in the wlad fight.

Haye's mega ego prompted him to come back and redeem the embarrassment of his performance against Wladimir. It's understandable, to say the least, that he will want to improve (repair) his damaged reputation.

Well, no ****, Haye. Hatton came back after a 3 year layoff. You fought in July.

Is it necessary for Haye to jab Hatton? I mean they're not even in the same situation. Hatton had a much longer layoff after going through some personal problems. Haye was on the sidelines because he was waiting on for a fight with Vitali and filmed a TV show.

Comeback? What comeback? Hatton hadn't fought in about 3 yrs. Hayes last fight was like 8 months ago.
