    Yup. They got posters all over the trains and subways and even billboards, saying clear as day that if you get caught with a gun on you -- 3.5 years bid minimum.

      That's not how the law works. Owning an illegal weapon is a huge crime, it's the possession of the weapon that got him arrested

          Im pretty sure the guns they're talking about have to be ILLEGAL. In Guerrero's case the gun was NOT illegal. It' registered under his name. Now that he had no NY license that's a different story.

            my point goes beyond what's legal or illegal, it's a matter of ethics. did he unknowingly break a law, yes. does he deserve to go to jail? based on the circumstances of this particular situation, and this is my opinion, no he doesn't deserve to go to prison. people make me sick who look at a situation in black and white, and make judgements that can change somebodies life who did no harm to anybody. this is why I can't stand our penal/legal system and those who choose to follow it blindly.

              it was illegal, jurisdiction in Cali doesn't apply in NY

                  good news......i don't give a crap if he is convicted or not, he can serve 1 day or 100 years for all i care...just as long as it's after may 4th.

                      It's illegal. Point blank period.
