This would be the toughest fight in the world to make with both of them avoiding each other.

I don't think any indication have been given that the two are avoiding each other. Povetkin is a gold medalist and a (paper) world champion. I don't think he thinks he has anything to be afraid of with regards to Haye. Similar size almost.

Both mens choices for hw opponents so far suggest to me they like the safe route unless there's huge money involved.

I've read that they're considering that offer so if they even think about that kind of fighter I won't except they would consider Haye. Plus from what I've heard and read so far Jovo Pudar will most likely be announced today as Haye opponent. I really hope I'm wrong though. Btw what time is that conference scheduled?

This seems to be the route of more and more heavyweight fighters. Fighting less often and less dangerous opponents seems to be the future of the division when sitting on a high ranking. Seems to be happening more and more often.

I bet its someone 'lower' than Povetkin.

The sensible option, in terms of ranking and money, is Adamek; but I wouldn't be surprised if we get Manuel Charr or Jonathan Banks.
