I don't think FLoyd should take a warmup fight because wasn't that what Sharmba Mitchell was? That said, now that Zab screwed up and that Mosley can't be ready by April 8th (plus it doesn't sound like Hatton really wants the fight too soon) it sounds like Floyd will have to take an easy fight first.

So that whole thing about Richard Hatton not being able to fight until July was baloney?

Let's stop kidding ourselves. I don't think the fight is going to happen while both of these stars are undefeated. I mean, I hope it happens and I wish I'm wrong, but I don't think it'll happen until one of them has a loss on their record.
        Boxing is a **** sport.
**** boxing and all the politics.
        **** Floyd Mayweather's people, **** Richard Hatton's people.

well if hatton wants another fight before fighting floyd, which is likely than i guess floyd should fight someone like baldomir or someone.

I think you need to read the article again, he said he is ready to start discussing a fight with floyd and plans to fight in the US in april

Yeah I read the article and didn't read anything that made me think there will be a Mayweather fight in the next four months. It sounded like diplomatic talk

Who taught you how to read?

if someone came along and said 'Here is the Mayweather fight' we would take it
discuss the prospect of a fight with Mayweather in America in late April or early May
If a big fight was out there we would take it immediately

Best thing would be to put them in some warm-up fights, on the same card (especially if Ricky is willing to come to the U.S., like he claims).
Then have them square off a few months from then.

It will be another sad thing for fight fans if this fight never comes off. It has all the great ingridients......

                    I agree....

                    I say, Hatton - Gatti/ PBF - Baldomir (January/February 2006)

                    Then

                    Hatton - PBF (Late April/Early May 2006)

Hearns & Leonard did the exact same thing.

Three months before their fight....Leonard took on Ayub Kalule, & Hearns took on Pablo Baez....in the Astrodome.
                      That reminds me-
For those who say Leonard was some kind of *****.....The man had his fight with Hearns all signed, & lined, up. He moved up to 154....& fought somone as good & tough as Kalule. That was his "tune-up". ******* don't take tune-ups like that.
