I still can not comprehend how people can think that Jones Jr. was a fraud. That guy was simply the most talented fighter on the planet for a good number of years. He happens to grow a bit older over night and drops his last few fights and therefore he is determined to be a fraud. Was Joe Louis a fraud when he fell to Marciano. Was Alexis Arguello a fraud because he dropped fights to Arron Pryor. Muhammad Ali aswell must have been a fraud because he lost to Larry Holmes. All of the fighters mentioned are in no way frauds. When they were prime they were among the most formidable fighters that time had to offer in their respected divisions. Just because a fighter grows old and his eyes are no longer able to pick up the slightest movements of his opponents does not mean that what he did in his prime was fraudulent. It simply means that the fighter lost the fight that every fighter will lose when encountered with this common opponent. That opponent being time.

#1-What you know about Carnera couldn't fill a thimble.
#2-Roid didn't age overnight. He avoided people who had a shot to beat his ass for years and got away with it.
Finally HBO stood up and said NO! No more cops and cab drivers.
Fight some real competition or stay out of the ring.
The first time he stepped it up, he very nearly lost...a lot of people think he did. He has lost EVERY fight since. When the mytique went so did the invincibility. A virtual journeyman kicked his ASS when Glen Johnson showed him no respect....upsetting a tired assed Manny Stewart in the process.
    Remember Manny's incredulous comments?
    *** Jones.

        hmm

Me think it was sven ottke followed by roy fraud jnr.
        1) You made a thread about the biggest fraud in boxing.

        2) As a response, you put Sven Ottke and Roy Jones in the same sentence.

        3) Your punishment? Bad karma, and bad reputation.

        Thank you, come again.

Well, he kinda did. When have you ever seen Roy exhausted in the 7th round (as in the 1st Tarver fight) or barely throwing a punch (as vs Glen Johnson) or huffing after throwing a few combos (vs Tarver in the rubbermatch).

For you to put Tua in the same sentence as Jones under this topic shows how much you know about boxing. Bad karma for you as soon as I can.

                Roy Jones Jr.

Their was two different Roy Jones in the boxing world. Their was the brilliant boxing technician who threw unanswered combinations, and the defensive minded, scared Roy Jones who cautiously progressed through the ranks avoiding all the top competition.

Jones, Hopkins.. they are hugely over-rated. Frauds in that sense.

Howard Davis Jr. and Bernard Taylor-even though they weren't totally prepared for the pro game, probably(especially in Davis Jr's case)should have won a world title.
