**** Golden Boy, and **** Saul Alvarez.
It was clear to me that it was even after 6, 10-8 canelo in RD 7, 10-9 Trout in RD 8. (76-75 Canelo)

After the first 8 rounds I thought the fight was rather easy to score. I had trouble with the last 4 and ended up with 114-113 Trout, but could have given a round to Canelo that I gave to Trout that would have made the decision different.

It LOOKED like Canelo won the fight IMO, if you didn't sit there and score it, the causal onlooker would probably say Canelo won.

I have no problem with him winning. I have a problem with the president of a sanctioning body promising fair judging before the fight.

Every round to Canelo after 8, from the WBA judge no less? That's complete and utter B.S.

Even 6-2 from the other judge was just as bad.

Canelo may have won the fight, BUT the dynamic of the fight was dramatically changed when one fighter finds out he needs a KO after round 8 of an otherwise close fight.

I'm not saying Canelo didn't deserve the win, because despite me having it a point for Trout, I could just as easy given that swing round to Canelo and had him the winner.

If the scores were announced after 8 rounds and they were within a point for EITHER fighter at the time (like the fight was), who knows how the rest of the fight may have gone? Canelo may have pressed for the KO and got it; Trout may have boxed smarter, who knows what may have happened.

Hats off to Canelo. He showed he's getting better and better. They really put in some good work and had a good game plan and executed well. I'm interested in his next fight, if it's against a top fighter.

I thought Canelo won a close fight but I agree with your central thesis 100%.

Trout finding out he basically needed a KO on 2 scorecards was bull****. It changed hs plan and robbed him of the chance to close the fight his way and take advantage of Canelo's tiring/laziness. OPen scoring is bad enough, but when one of the judges is stanley christoduolo(sp) who seems to have his scorecard done in advance it makes it that much worse.

This fight was at best 7-5 (plus KD) for Canelo. to see scores of 116-112 and 118-109 is truly disheartening. GBP actually made this win look like Trout was robbed when IMO he wasn't.

I scored it for Trout as well. 114-113. With this said I have no problem with Canelo winning by a point. This fight was extremely close. Yeah the judges scorecards were crap for the most part and open scoring changed the dynamic of the fight but that is not Canelos fault.

This was his toughest test an he passed.

Here is my opinion on the Canelo-Trout bout. I watched this fight again, and still scored this 115-112. Man ! These over zealous Canelo fans are starting to become worse than the *******s. I'm gonna start calling these fan boys "Canelas".

I did see a lot of improvement in Canelo with his head movement and defense .

I don't even care for Canelo but his defense won the fight. Yes Trout threw way more punches but they didn't land & when they did, they weren't clean shots. The cleaner shots went to Canelo.

I wanted & would have loved to see Trout win. Very close fight, enjoyed it, but Canelo won that.

you guys are known canelo haters though. Trout was swinging to the air that dont wins fights. Canelo hurt trout at least 4 times in this fight
