  • I Rewatched the Cotto-Trout fight. I feel Trout won but TBH I wasn't impressed at all.

Trout was getting clipped cleanly by an extremely slow, shop worn cotto who had his best days at 140. This should be a very winnable fight for Canelo. Trout doesn't have the power or a good enough offensive arsenal that will keep Canelo at bay.

My hope is for the ref to watch trouts low blows. Trout got away with 2 or 3 low blows & never got any Pts taken away. Did it even after the ref warned him. Also the excessive holding.

    • Austin Trout is a real fighter...he fights for legitimacy every time he steps in the ring...Sinalao suicide watch when reality happens.

      • Canelo is going to send Trout to hell and leave him there

        • I wouldn't be surprised if this fight ends within 6 rounds. I'm leaning towards Canelo, but I could see Trout pulling it off as well. It's going to be an interesting fight.

This fight will basically either show people Canelo is the real deal, or that a lot of people were right about him, that he's only good against weaker competition.

          • trout will b robbed

canelo is a very sharp puncher but he has been rocked by cotto chubby brother and has sharply n voluminously tagged mediocre fighters without flattening them. trout is not an old man, smaller man or a run of the mill average joe opponent as has been canelo's dance card so far. so i see canelo attacking and landing sharply but not so effectively with trout having movement miles beyond what canelo is used to facing. then some time during rounds 3 or 4, trout begins landing on alvarez and gradually taking over the fight. a horrible split decision is anounced giving canelo the win with one of the cards very lopsided for canelo and though the press and public polls will nearly unanimously see trout as the real winner, team canelo will move on and skirt any questions regarding any rematch with trout. enjoy the fight

            • Can't believe so many people think Trout wins. He's a talented, but extremely basic fighter. He really offers nothing that will halt Canelo's offense.

              • I see trout outworking and out fighting canelo in a messy fight that he wins the close rounds in.

I do appreciate canelo's left hook and think that if trout gets impatient or over confident (like pac vs marquez) it could be lights out.

Nevertheless i have put my money on trout to win a MD.

                • Trout Ina ugly sloppy Ud win....canelo stalks too much without nothing being thrown....trout is a big boy might not be a big puncher but as long as he's keeping something it red heads face he should have advantage......trout really wants this and seems to be hungry we're canelo seems like he's just trying to get to the stardom.

                  • Maybe it is a toss-up, but I'll go with Alvarez. Why? I base my feeling on the last Alvarez fight, the fight with pretty good, albeit now almost forgotten fighter, Lopez. And somehow, Trout seems to be like that, conquered by Alvarez, fighter. We will see how long Trout lasts.

Canelo couldn't knock out Matt Hatton but he's going to knock Trout out?
