I find it funny how Canelo is being built up into this unstoppable force that Floyd is supposed to be scared of when Canelo hasn't beaten ANYBODY of note

If Trout happens to win, and Floyd fights him, Floyd will be good. Trout will not outbox Floyd, and he has very little power and has decisioned several journeymen who have been knocked out before [which is why I can't see Trout keeping Canelo off of him, he can run for like 3-4 rounds until Canelo closes the distance]. So he will not decision Floyd or knock him out, pretty much a safe fight where Floyd will be able to do what he does best and that's just box; as opposed to fighting, possibly taking some hard blows from Canelo, having to constantly stay on his toes, etc.

Stylewise Trout is more dangerous than Canelo. Canelo is aggressive which is perfect for Floyds style, Trout is a counterpunching southpaw, the last thing we will see Floyd face. But honestly I think Floyd is hoping these guys will eliminate each other so Floyd can go on fighting ex-featherweights.

There's no reason for Floyd to avoid an Alvarez fight.

One pro fight changes absolutely everything about a fighter for these guys. To me, i've known since about 2009 that Canelo is the real deal, with the eye test, how he carries himself and the patience he has for his age. Since about 2011 I already saw him as ready for Floyd as he'll ever be. TBH a 2011 Canelo has as much of a chance at beating Floyd as a Canelo with wins over Trout and Cotto would have in 2014. People like to act as if a dude's style changes or something after they fight a couple of good boxers.
Now if we're talking about does Canelo's chance increases BECAUSE Floyd will be 37 by the time they may fight in May 2014, of course his chances increases then, but that's because of age, not because Canelo became better. But let's say a 2014 Canelo, or whatever version you want to bring vs a 2011 Floyd, Canelo would have the same chance every time out.
I think Canelo looks good, mostly the snap on his punches they look controlled and crisp, however I think a fight with trout will tell us a lot because his competition is lacking and it makes him hard to gauge. Its easy to look good against weak competition.

As tough as Floyd is when pushed to the limit, Canelo will be a fully developed JMW with 10 fights at 154, while Floyd will be a near 40 year old welterweight with 2 JMW fights. Floyd's skills wins him fights against bigger opponents, but i'm not sure at 37 he'll be all that agile anymore. The safe bet would be Floyd by decision, but if Canelo happens to destroy or even look really good against Trout, then he'd be a very live underdog against Floyd. If Floyd struggles with Guerrero and Canelo beats Trout, I can see people actually favoring Canelo over Mayweather.

If by some miracle the Floyd that fought Oscar shows up, one with that kind of mobility, then Floyd takes it 8-4 or 9-3, but I have doubts that happens, at some point I think Floyd is gonna start clinching a lot more, spoiling a bit, we'll see.

Are you saying that because Trout beat Cotto he's now unstoppable and Mayweather won't fight him?
Mayweather is notorious for ducking and cherry picking above 135. I don't see why his fans can't admit it
