I may be in the minority, but I dont think this fight happens in September, in fact I dont see Floyd fighting this September. I see him fighting in November or December, against either the Matthysse/Peterson winner or Alexander/Brook winner. I think Canelo, if he gets past Trout will fight either Angulo or Cotto in September.

Ironically it's guys like you that make Floyd's resume look better than it really is by building up guys as monsters. I'm a big Canelo fan, he has the potential to become a great fighter but Floyd is simply better and has the stylistic advantage and would handle Canelo relatively easily. Of course the fight will be easy to make because they have the same promoter and Canelo is already a big draw. I see this as an easy cash grab for Floyd but you guys will have no choice but to praise him.Comment

Your blinded by your hate for Floyd because the facts dont support your theory and heres why. Last year Shafer told the HBO commentary team, the week of the Cotto/Mayweather fight, that they were not ready to make the fight with Floyd. Shafer also said the same thing a week later on the Jim Lampley show. So what has happened since then? Canelo hasnt done **** except beat a blown up JWW Josesito Lopez. No, not really. Canelo is very young and hardheaded it seems. If he beats Trout, that will get even more in to his head and he will try to call the shots against Floyd and give him ultimatums. And Floyd is not going to like that one bit. But let's hope the fight gets easily made.Comment

They reserved the date for Floyd period. The only way Canelo gets that date is if hes fighting Floyd, or Floyd pulls out of that date. I cant see Canelo loosing face by fighting on Floyds undercard after backing out of May 4th. I don't see this fight happening in September either. About a month ago, Schaefer mentioned 3 opponents set for Canelo in September in his first PPV if he beats Trout, neither of them were Mayweather. I think Mayweather vs Canelo happens in May 2014 and Floyd will fight some one else in September. But you know how it goes, people will say Floyd is ducking when in reality I think GBP wants to see what Canelo can do on his own PPV main event and then put him against Floyd.Originally posted by 4Corners View PostComment

unless brooks beats alexander or trout beats canelo i don't see anyone else for floyd to fight except canelo in september.
i'd be pissed if floyd doesn't fight this year guerrero just isn't a big enough fight to have to wait a year for another fight.
i like to bookmark threads like these just to see how peoples opinions change once the fight is made.Comment
