Vitali only turned pro in '96, what should he do, go straight for the great Lennox being a novice himself? you know, things don't work that way.
And actually, I don't personally believe Lewis was faded when he fought Vitali. Remember, even Lewis compared himself with 'fine wine that get better with age'. Lewis retired while he was still on top of his game.
Also as you know, Lewis was supposed to fight Kirk Johnson, but then gave Vitali the shot on very short notice.
Haha, sure bro.
Lewis entered the ring at a career heavy weight. That's motivation right there...
Oh yea you did sorry, agreed its either haye himself or Adam booth. It has to be especially if the questions to find out which opponents fans would prefer and the pictures that was posted etc
He's hardly going to throw himself in with someone who is a poor style match, is he? He'll take the easiest route back to a title shot, like any contender would..
Actually I put this wrong. He'll take the one with the lowest risk/award ratio if you know what I mean.
Fair point about Vitali (although not solely his fault), but his skillset/talent and ability is far far better than his resume. I don't rate many ATGs as favor against him in his prime (actually ali is the only clear favor against prime Vitali IMO). But it's what it is.
Regarding Haye - I hope I am wrong and he'll prove his greatness in the proper way.
