HBO will have better fights. Arum puts on good shows as long as he's in control of the promotion.

Golden Boy and Haymon will bring down Showtime Boxing, they did it to HBO boxing they'll do it again.

they'll bring all those mismatches to Showtime and eventually fans will tune out like they tuned out with HBO. nobody likes watching mismatches.

if the Mayweather deal loses CBS money, Espinoza will be gone and GBP will lose it's network and I highly doubt they'll hire another GBP pawn.

if GBP and Haymon act anything like they did in the past then they'll be without a network in a few years.

now everything hinges on Espinoza not being fired from showtime

Actually Showtime has the advantage because GBP has nowhere else to go, Arum is needed by HBO because if they intend to show boxing he has the talent they need so it is the inverse. HBO could have got over on Arum had they not said this publicly even if this is their plan because Arum already stated he wouldn't work with Showtime~

I wouldn't really expect someone like you to get it though.

yeah that's right let scumbag bob be the voice of reason. that b!@$h a$$ move is probably going to cost the hbo pres his job, but let scumbag bob tell it, despite 3 straight shaky outings and 2 straight loses, manny pacquiao's going to save the network.

This is all very possible as I dont see Floyd/Guerrero breaking a mil. Guerrero is too unknown and will not interests the casuals who will usually buy a Mayweather fight against an opponent that they've at least heard of before. Showtime will lose money on their deal with Floyd.

Oh I get it just fine, thats todays boxing fan or so it would seem. They dont just support certain fighters, they have to support their networks, coaches and managers too. Its crazy that people think or see GBP as some sort of virtuous saviour of the sport. They're a promoter and as such they are just as bad as any other, daft or naive to think any different.

It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out though, I dont think life is going to stay rosy for too long at showtime/cbs. The overwhelming misunderstanding by fans of exactly how Floyd's deal with them really stacks up is pretty telling.

Schaefer said that HBO's highest rated fights last year and this year were all from Golden Boy.

Let's see if Arum can deliver those types of ratings.

I don't really care where I watch boxing, GBP is a for profit business just like HBO/Time Warner, CBS/Showtime or Top Rank. All of them are out for their own interests.

You just don't seem to get the position both companies are currently in, GBP is in position to get taken advantage of while Top Rank is in position to take advantage of HBO, which being for profit ventures I would expect to see somewhat.

Floyd's deal doesn't mean much because Floyd pays for Floyd until proven otherwise.
