Replace good with slightly above average and I will agree.

hes not a big puncher but has enough pop to make to keep guys honest.
Enough pop to keep old blown up welterweight off but actual 154 fighters I doubt it

hes got a good lead hand for a lefty, excellent jab and a good hook. he throws a good cross and uppercut with the left and can put combinations together well when he wants to.

hes got solid boxing skills, good timing, form, rhythm etc. and he makes good adjustments mid fight.

trout is one of those guys who doesnt look great as soon as you lay eyes on him, he isnt spectacular in any way but he is a very solid all around fighter who will be hard to beat for anyone at 154.
Basically a style to pull out boring unimpressive decisions against old small guys. Oh and I don't remember him ever landing a decent combination.

He's a terrible offensive fighter. Its why he has to win boring decisions over old blown up welterweights when most any good fighter would have KO'd them.

His upside is a 154 version of John Ruiz

lwouldn't it be funny if he ko'ed canelo then.
Maybe he just needs a new trainer to help him get KO's or maybe it's just not meant to be lol

Its the potential he has, that we caught a glimpse of against Cotto. That's why the fight against Alvarez is so great, it's two young guys proving themselves against each other. Maybe Trout will stink up the joint and lose, maybe he'll put in his most impressive effort yet.

The potential to be a 154 John Ruiz?

Oh and FYI I am a fan of Canelo's so please this has nothing to do with me trying to hate on him.
Oooh more irony from Canelo fans.

Btw boxing is not all about offense. Your boy Canelo is all offense and 0 defense. The name of the game is hit and don't be hit.
