Well that's no fun. And if Macklin or a lesser guy beats him he looks even worse and probably doesn't get a rematch lol

Chavez is a little bigger and slightly more powerful yes but outside of some power, everything Chavez does, Macklin does better. Better head movement, faster.

Chavez has a chance with any middle weight for sure but I'd have to say Macklin should be the favorite.

That being said, I just don't think that's the fight they'll pick with a $3 million purse on their against Sergio in Sep.

Chavez takes a better punch, and has better late fight stamina. Macklin gets very vulnerable every time: Martinez ok, but barely made it out on his feet vs Sturm, faded bad vs Varon, Ajetovic.

Whoever it is, Chavez needs to lose to save us from the Chavez-Martinez rematch.

I'm kind of sad Barker wasn't mentioned. I recall he was an option for Chavez at some point. I think he has a better chance than Macklin because I could see him outboxing Chavez. Brawlers like Macklin and Vera will be succumbed by the pressure late.

My thoughts exactly. Giovanni Lorenzo will be the choice. He's the one who is the least threatening.
