According to Top Rank V.P. of Boxing Operations Carl Moretti, three opponents are being discussed for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.'s June return in Texas: Brian Vera, Matthew Macklin and Giovanni Lorenzo.
Chavez Jr., is currently serving a nine-month suspension for a positive marijuana test after his fight with Sergio Martinez. The suspension is retroactive to the Sept. 15 middleweight championship bout with Martinez, making him eligible for return on June 15.
Lorenzo (32-5, 24 KOs) is 3-3 in his last six fights, but has faced some notable competition in his pro career. The 32-year-old Dominican has suffered defeats to Raul Marquez, Sebastian Sylvester, Felix Sturm and most recently, Hassan N'Dam. [Click Here To Read More]
