GGG Wants to fight Bernard Hopkins!

According to "boxing Fantatik" on instagram:
Gennady Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler says Golovkin is willing to jump up 2 weight classes and face Bernard Hopkins in June at 175 without a catchweight. Golovkin is desperate for a big fight. Not only does he want to fight often, but he's also willing to fight anyone from 154 to 175 lbs.
What do you guys think about this? Could Hopkins End this Hype Train? Or would GGG retire the Executioner? And If he does maybe Andre Ward would avenge BHops Loss.

B.Hop wouldn't gain ANYTHING by beating up that dude...not even props from the GGG fanbase who claims he knock out HW's in sparring...they'll say dude was too small...I like the Ward fight better for BOTH B.Hop and GGG

It feels like all the Hopkins fans on this thread don't want to see the fight which makes me think they're a little worried.

I think it could be interesting but losing would really not be good for either fighter, I don't see it happening.

in the past few years bernard hasn't shown the rock solid chin that he displayed in the past.


he is 48 years old, man. he's not the fighter he used to be in any respect outside of his craft. every physical characteristic has diminished. if he continues to fight he'll eventually be stopped. he'll get hit with a punch that he'd eat up in his prime, and it will put him on his pants.


tavoris cloud is not good. the guy sucks at boxing, and he's not an aggressor. he pretends to be a pressure fighter. i'd love to see how golovkin did against him in sparring. i'd eat my hat if cloud was too much for him. golovkin pressures behind a jab. he cuts off the ring. cloud acts like he's pressuring.



again, i'm picking bernard on points, but the idea that this fight is something that golovkin can't win is not correct. you guys are putting way too much stock into the weight classes, and it's taking away from your evaluation of the styles and the fighters at the respective points in their careers.

The style clash alone is a mis match in Hopkins favor. The weight, size and strength is just icing on the cake.

This is a bad fight for Golovkin man.On every level.

I'm just going on the tone of the posts.

Not saying he wins but I give Golovkin a shot, he has a strong engine and his footwork cuts off the ring better than any fighter I've watched in a while. He's also very experienced at dealing with different boxing styles.

My main concern is whether he could take the punches of a fighter coming down from light-heavy.
