Why isn't Carl Froch a big star in England??

Please correct me if I'm wrong but Carl Froch is not a manistream star in England, right? I've been told outside of Nottingham nobody cares about Froch...Is there any truth to that?

Froch has a very fight friendly style and is also a charismatic person so it would be very easy to make him the big star that he deserves to be.

Both Khan and Haye are well known name. Even people who aren't really boxing fans still know who these guys are.

    This pic is epic.

    He's getting there.

He's a lot more popular now than he was before the Super Six.

Now he's on Sky he get's a lot more mainstream exposure.

I wouldn't say Froch is a mainstream star just yet, but he is getting much more coverage than he used to and it's no longer a case of nobody outside Nottingham cares about him. The Kessler rematch will bring a lot of new attention to his career.

Khan was an Olympic medallist who fought on terrestrial television regularly at one point, Haye was world heavyweight champion.

This was true a few years ago before he was fighting on Sky, now hes on sky he's a pretty mainstream name. Most males with an interest in sports know who he is. Haye and Khan are probably slightly better known outside sports fans because Khan was in the Olympics, and Haye has marketed himself very well to the celeb magazine world with I'm a Celebrity and stuff like that.

He wasn't being promoted well for years, wasn't with sky or on any tv networks for alot of his fights like against taylor, didn't get the big domestic fight against calzaghe, some of the guys he beat like pascal weren't well known at the time.

He's VERY popular now. Not quite as big as Haye as he does a lot of other stuff, but he's a big name that would sell out anywhere in Britain.

Even up here, there's already some Kessler-Froch II stuff around and the fight will be shown in a number of sports bars and the likes.

hes also pretty levelheaded and even relatively quiet and has never sought out fame in the way showboaters like Haye and to some extent Khan have.

Hes been top p4p boxer in Britain for a year now, so it will follow.
