My thoughts on Manny Pacman right now.

Contrary to what some newer posters believe I was actually a bonified Pacman fan before the Margarito fight. In fact that was the fight that turned me off. It was that fight that did it entirely.

Concerning him & Marquez, I actually thought Pacman could have won the 1st fight & easily I might add. Although I had no problem with it being a draw solely on the tremendous heart that Marquez demonstrated. I do believe that Pacman also won the 2nd fight. With his 2 point round being the difference.

I do however believe that Marquez clearly won the 3rd fight. But the fights before that were sickening to me. I think Pacman, Roach & arum were content with milking his sudden found star power for all it was worth.

But if Pacman was gonna get beaten, at least he got his from another great fighter. Some fighters had their star destroyed by mediocre fighters, good fighters but not great fighters. At 1st I was ecstatic about his destruction, but now I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Hopefully he gets a decent win before he retires altogether, I do wish him the best.

good post. I do agree that if anyone was to knockout pacquiao it should be his main rival Marquez.

I also doubt pacquiao will ever be the same after that fight. but like you said though, hopefully he can get a nice win or two before retiring.

Marg was still hell for any welter. Is it the bogus belt that did it? There's lots of bogus belts floating around. Mares won his 2nd belt at a CW against a guy tons less formidable than Marg. Has your opinion of him changed?

I think PAC had lost a step but would still beat anybody not named Marquez at 147. Even Floyd. I think Floyd can beat him too. Marquez just has his number but I think Marquez lost all three fights. And was gonna get KO in the forth till he rocked PAC. I'm still high on PAC. And favor him vs anybody except Floyd. That's a toss up IMO. I think he can beat Marquez in the rematch.

This tread is about Pacman & where he stands with me. Margarito was a cheater, who's done nothing noteworthy since being found a cheater & getting destroyed by Mosley. The belt for the jr middleweight strap was an extra slap in the face to me too.

I am not gonna indulge in a, "hey lets hate on Mares cause someone said something about some trashy affair involving Pacman". This isn't a hate tread, so please leave out all dat (other) nonsense.

The one thing I agree with is at least he got KO by another great fighter, but his next fight he will get KO against by either Marquez or some young gun like Brandon Rios or an older vet like Humberto Soto who has the power to KO Manny as well.

I thought Manny won the 1st and 2nd fights. The 3rd was the one he either lost, or drew. I hate to say either fight lost any of those 3 fights because they were tremendous shows of skill and determination from both fighters.

The Bradley thing is a blip. I can't hold that against him, he should have beat a pretty game p4p fighter in Bradley.

And ofc the KO. Either one was about to get knocked out, Manny got the short straw. Now you get posts on this site saying Broner would beat Manny, Thurman would beat Manny. When theres no proof saying he'd lose to anyone not named Marquez or Mayweather. Even then, Marquez 5 would be a toss up still, and noone will ever know how a Floyd/Pac fight would turn out.

It's just hate. Mayweather gets the same. I'm glad theres some people that can actually look past it

I'm not asking you to hate on Mares. I wanted to know what makes one better than the other, provided you care to be consistent,
