If by smartest you mean, craftiest, trickiest and best able to get inside guys heads and make them fight his fight so he can beat fighters who are faster, stronger, younger and fitter ... then it's hopkins.

If you mean who is smarter at cherry picking the best opponents at the right time in their careers so he can make the most money with the least risk, then it's floyd.

Is this a trick question? ....it's obviously Floyd duh. Floyd is obviously the smarter fighter here, when a fight is to dangerous Floyd know its not good for him. He'll duck and dodge, whatever it takes...even retiring to get pass by.

This is a good description of Mayweather.

Nard on the otherhand is close to ******ed you could say...there were many fights where they were no good for him but he took them like he doesn't know a jack ****.

Hopkins had to take them, he didn't have the star power of a Mayweather or a Jones Jr.

Another difference is B-Hop wasn't obsessively protecting an undefeated record, his boxrec says he lost his first fight.

I think Hopkins is the smarter fighter. Winning fights at 48 years old because of little more than your ring smarts is unbelievable.

Mayweather has longevity.

Mayweather's been a pro 17 years, been in the P4P list almost all of those years. There is not many that can rival that.

Don't forget, Hopkins started a lot later than Mayweather did age wise.

I'm not saying Mayweather has the longevity of Hopkins because he doesn't but Mayweather's longevity in the sport is also an incredible feat.

I'd say Hopkins. I'm not knocking Floyd But for a 48 year old man to be able to fight like that without getting hurt is ****ing amazing. I was shocked how well he made cloud miss by doing the littlest things. Mayweather is smart but as he gets older he's fighting less smart it seems. That's just how I see it as of now my opinion may change
