  • How is Broner ducking the 140 pounders when the main guys at the weight don't even want to fight each other?

I felt the plan was to fight Burns this summer and then move up.

Broner could have made a real effort to fight either guy by summer of this year. Yet he doesn't...when Burns moved away from a Broner fight for legitimate reasons, he was called a duck, yet Broner isn't? With no legitimate reason.

It's true some of the guys at 140 are tied up but Matthyse and Abril would be awesome fights, and what's this BS about high risk, low reward, that's just another way of saying "I'm too scared". Only fighters who get away with that **** are established world champions, Broner is far from that.

I can't believe anyone is even defending a fight against Paulie when there were AT LEAST 5-6 other legitimate opponents, all of whom are better than Malignaggi.

      **** just got ****ter.
U are wrong snout burns. He is in fact in limbo. Warren is not letting him go easily. As boxingscene stated he has a legit contract. That fight won't happen in June, its not realistic at this point, its the fight I want too but its not gonna happen.

Burns isn't the only fighter being skipped

          • You guys are ******.

Broner clearly states, this jump is simply to grab another title to add to his legacy. He states he will go back to 135-140 when a decent card is put on the table. Which if you did your research, most if not all the 135 and 140 divisions fighters are currently in negotiations or training camps. How can you blame him for an easy fight, when it's up for grabs, all fighters do it and Paulie is game.

Besides my personal opinion, Broner cleans the Lightweight and light Welterweight divisions up within 2 years easily.
Garcia, Peterson not quick enough and won't pose a physical or power threat.
Khan can't take a punch, Mattyese can be out-boxed and neutralized enough for Zab Judah and Devon Alexander (not exactly two p4pounders) to beat SD.
Burns hasn't actually fought anyone world level yet, and Vazquez ain't got the skills to beat him.

Most of you just hear the Baby Floyd likeness and go into hater mode already. Seriously in 2 years when he cleans the 135 lightweight and then 140 light welters, you'll be saying fight Canelo, fight Martinez, fight Trout, Macklin etc.

Yes, Paulie is more exciting. Pretty easy to tell if you watched his career IMO.

The point is jumping two weight classes to fight Paulie is an interesting fight. Sorry but Vasquez and Abril fights stink out loud. Burns said no.

Garcia, Judah, Khan, Peterson, Matthysse are all busy. Rios is Top Rank.

Paulie is a solid fight of who is available. To say he is ducking 140 is silly considering over half the weight class is not available.

People aren't thinking clearly before they say he is ducking 140 IMO.

Exactly. You can't fight fighters who are tied up already, say no to fighting you or that HBO won't buy. Paulie is a bigger name than many with a title. It sets up an opportunity for Broner to fight anyone available afterwards at 140 or at 147 considering everyone at 140 is trying to get there eventually.

You can't duck someone that's not available to fight.

                • wtf. so what about vazquez, abril and even burns? and will he go down to 140 after paulie? or will he have the guys at 140 come up to fight him at 147?

i wish his move up in weight was more gradual. i mean what's the rush to 147? it's not even that hot of a division.

                  • Seriously, I dont get whats the problem with this. Im looking forward to it, don't understand how a champ two weightclasses above someone can be a cherrypick, but thats just me.

I just previously posted if he moved up to 147 and fought someone like Alexander or Guerrero (who I know are tied up in fights) instead of Malignaggi who is coming off a gift decision and legs are obviously shot to **** then people wouldn't be talking ****. But then again I can only speak for myself. Apparently you know me more than I do tho.
I know you from a lot of previous posts and you definitely are a hater, even though you say otherwise. Its alright though, I don't hate you for it. Guys like you keep this **** interesting to me.
