Some of the posters in this thread (russian) in another who won thread basically created their own scoring system. If you scored the fight by the rules I think zab wins the 1st 4-5 rds. Sorry but zabs defense counts toward scoring not matts stalking him.
None of those other things matter more than who is landing the punches. The only ones creating their own scoring system are the ones who let defense and generalship and how pretty a punch looked matter as much as who is landing punches.

I don't think it was even one of those quality vs. quantity fights. Zab had some nice moments here and there, but overall Lucas was clearly landing more quality shots and Zab's moments of quality were nowhere near frequent enough to warrant giving the guy enough rounds to win the fight. This is pro-boxing, body work counts.

Fights are scored rd by rd..I can see someone giving either fighter the win, because different things matter to different people..I gave it to Judah, imo I remember feeling it was enough..I'm gonna revisit this fight over the weekend..It's been a lil min..

Why even have a thread like this ,nothing but matthysse nut huggers fact is most rounds were close and the judges scored it accordindly problem is Matthysse fans can't stand the fact their hero has two L's to Judah and freakin Devon Alexander so he loses all credibility in his war god status he has on nsb.

Yea the people who know how to score found Lucas as a winner on clean effective punching and those who don't know how to score saw Judah winning on fancy footwork

If Judah didn't throw punches you'd still have him winning on defense and ring generalship, 2 of the 4 scoring categories

Clean effective punching wins fights, it's simple

116-111 Matthysse, dunno how anybody could justify Zab winning that fight! Even Ledermans 1 point scorecard seemed "iffy", unfortunately what's done is done and no amount of fans discussion will ever change the history books!

Yes and round by round he usually wasn't doing enough good work to win them. It's not as if Judah was being the matador here (although no doubt that's what he thought he would be). He was taking big shots to the body in almost every single round and was giving very little back. Flicking out a jab occasionally isn't sufficient disguise for inactivity.

It's not the case that people saw this is as clear Matthysse victory because he was a charging bull in there, he was being very effective in imposing his will on the fight. Sure he threw a lot more than he landed and Judah gets credit for that, but with a few rounds excepted what he landed was still more significant than what Judah gave in response.

I keep hearing this a lot "Lucas didnt do enough to win that round". What does this even mean? This isn't family feud where you need a certain amount of points to win, you just have to do better then the other guy, and lucas clearly did that with more clean effective punching. Or with actual clean effective punching
