I don't believe this is the best HW era, but I also don't believe it's the worst - and many do.

I agree with Simmy. one era that was worse than todays is that time when whites drew the colour line against blacks, for instance. Sullivan, Corbett were good but only defended part of the HW title, and a minor one at that, in my eyes, if they weren't fighting the physically dominant part of the population.

Holmes, Frazier, Ali were not bums. They were the opposite of bums.

I never claimed they were bums and I never will claim they were bums.

The posters here who say that "Hweightblogger claims Frazier was a bum" do so because of 2 reasons:

1) to discredit what I say
2) as a protective mechanism to keep their fantasies about the glorious past. They pretend that I have said ridiculous things to then be able to laugh and to reject them. It's a psychological mechanism to keep one's childhood and grandiosity delusions.

You didn't make up the quote, but quoted a mix of MY text and YOUR text as "Originally Posted by hweightblogger", because you obviously don't know how to quote threaded quotes. Hence I suggested how to do it properly the next time: Simply link to the post, instead of quoting YOUR text as my text.

But that was just a minor technical point.

The major point was that the text you have quoted shows that you made up your allegations: Because in the text you quoted I do not claim that Norton/Ali/Frazier/Holmes were bums, nor that Wlad would be laughed at for facing prime Holmes.

I never ever claimed (neither at Boxingscene nor in my HeavyweightBlog.com) that Frazier/Ali/Norton were bums.

You simply invent/misread such stuff because you cannot handle what I _am_ saying: Norton's record at the time he faced Ali WOULD BE LAUGHED AT nowadays. Norton's record at bout was far worse than Pianeta's record is. Wlad would be laughed at if he faced someone with such a record like Norton.

LOL What debate did he win and who made you the judge? He comes up with nonsense rules about triads and 200x2 to try and argue his case. But none of those bull**** numbers take into account actual ability. The 90's was a much more stacked HW division with better all round talent, but if you used numbers like he does to rate fighters, fighters like Holyfield would be rated behind the Pianeta's of the boxing world. A points system doesn't work, look at boxrec their ratings always have fighters rated higher or lower than they should be. They have Vitali ahead of Wlad even though his opponents have been weaker, Pacquiao #16 P4P behind Peterson and Hopkins ahead of Dawson at LHW.

It's very useful to have that. It doesn't tell all there is, but it is significant.
