Yea sounds likehe should atleast be able to meet in the middle @157 it would be Martinez's highest payday to date more than the Chavez fight I'm for sure!
Im no Canelo fan but Sergios team is full of *****... Sergio has claimed in the past to be a 154 guy fighting at 160 because he cant get fights... he calls out Mayweather and then signs for a fight and sets up the fight after that almost immediately... in doing so removes himself as an option... then two guys hes been calling out (Cotto, Canelo) say their open to fighting him... now he will only go to 154 (not 150 anymore) for Floyd... i actually do think Canelo wants to fight Sergio... and i think Sergio is an easier opponent (not saying Canelo would win, I think he has a good chance) than trout... anyway Sergio is full of ****... he's fighting Chavez... and if Chavez ups the pressure to more than 26 punches per in the next fight, he should stop Sergio...

I like Trout but there is no way Martinez is an easier fight then Trout
First off, ward doesn't come in that heavy on fight night, u must be talking about Chavez Jr, and how is that any different from the comparison with Martinez and Floyd! Floyd comes in at the most weight of 151lbs, while Martinez comes in at at least 170lbs
How much does Ward rehydrate to then....Ward weighing 175 for his last fight in the article he says himself that Martinez is too small, so read this and drop it. Unless you know what Ward thinks better than he himself does.
Martinez has under 5% body fat on fight night, there is no room to lose weight in such a short time, he would have to lose pure muscle - it is very apparent that there are a bunch of posters here who don't quite have a solid grasp on body mass indexes, muscle composition, or weight training in general.
Most boxers who move up in weight quickly do so by having more fat than they usually would have otherwise at a lower weight. Usually this means that you don't train hard as you normally would and skimp on cardio. Sergio added lean muscle so that he could still train as hard as he did at 154 without sacrificing weight. In order for him to lose the weight, he would have to alter his training techniques and lose muscle, which is not a fast process at all an very unhealthy if not done properly.
Of course Martinez wants the biggest payday in boxing but he said many times that he also considers Floyd to be the P4P king, his nuthuggers need to understand that.
Floyd is the P4P best so why would anyone deny what Martinez and everyone else already knows?
Martinez relies on his speed and athleticism way more than Floyd, his whole style is built on that, unlike Floyd who is a thinker and has a fundamentally sound defense. Martinez would look very ordinary against a faster and more skilled fighter so of course Floyd's speed would be a factor. The things Martinez does to set up his attacks wouldn't work on Floyd, he'd drop his hands to get Floyd to open up and he'd get popped with straight right hands all night. Martinez is not that type of pressure fighter that you need to keep at bay, he does his best work on the backfoot.
We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Floyd is not that strong at 154 and can be touched. Cotto was a slower guy and he had success at certain times. Martinez is quick, hits hard and he is durable. Floyd. Floyd would not be strong enough and even though his defense is second to none you can't disregard that Martinez figures a way to get in. He can box and work the ring technically. I'm a big Mayweather fan as most of you know but Martinez is the guy who would beat him (in my opinion). It takes more than pressure, power and speed to beat Mayweather. It takes skill and Martinez has it. He can do it all. Box, brawl, counter punch. Lets not forget that the perfect way to nullify Mayweather is with a jab and Martinez has a very solid jab. Even Roger said that a fighter has to have a solid jab to beat Floyd.

Martinez his very, very active and is a rangy fighter. Floyd would lose rounds on activity alone and be forced to become active despite not wanting too. Once Martinez lands a few solid straight left counters, Floyd is gonna have to resort to cheap tricks.
What I want to know is when is Sergio going to fight Golovkin, Geale, Pirog, Quillin, and clean out 160 completely. Because Murray and a Chavez rematch are as pointless as it gets, and people want to complain about Floyd's opposition.

I hear you man but the twelfth rd. with Chavez made it interesting I think early in the fight Chavez was afraid to exchange with him cause he knew Martinez had power but when he realized late in the fight he could take martinez's best shots is when he decided to fight now I'm not saying Chavez wasn't hurt at all but no matter Hal's hard Martinez hit him he kept chasing Martinez I think next time around it will be a lot more competitive although I still see Martinez winning and if he does I'm sure golovkin and the rest of them guys will be next but for now fans of both fighters have to agree there is unfinished buisiness here.
