Canelo.... hasn't beaten a single top 10 ranked fighter in his division.

his competition has not been good, but he has beaten a top five contender. now, ryan rhodes sucks, but he was in the top five when canelo beat him.

Malinaggi has considerable skill. He has no punch but has been in with man killers. He certainly deserves whatever he has. The one I'm thinking about as being a poor champion (as opposed to being undeserving) is Smith, who just beat Bundrage. Maybe one or two of the very light weights, although they have the excuse that there is not much opposition at those minimum weights.

Who is a man killer that he has been with? Cotto is the hardest hitting guy he's been in the ring with a Cotto isn't exactly a KO artist.

Kind of a touchy subject, as I would say no man that gets punched in the head for a living is undeserving of being a champion.

There's a difference between deserving respect and deserving to be recognised as the best. Stuntmen don't all deserve Best Actor Oscars.

Being a "monster" or avoided fighter doesn't make a paper title legit. There's a difference between a legit contender/challenger and a legit belt.
