Martinez vs Murray?

How can guys who are supposedly on Floyd's level (Floyd's ducking Serg!), be allowed to fight guys with no uproar or criticism?
Instead of resorting to scraping the bottom at 60, why won't he pick the top at 54 (The same weight he says he'd fight Floyd at)?
ATLEAST Robert is top 3 or 4 WW, Murray is like 10.. But it flies under the radar, how and why?

Here's my answer from the other thread. This is getting too repetitive.

A lot of people are hating on this fight but come on now, the guy is 37 years old coming off knee surgery, a messed up hand and 12 rounds of constant work non stop. He's still fighting a top 10 guy probably the weakest one but still. I know haters are always gonna be there but try to be reasonable for once.

Top fighters won't fighter each other at 154, why would they fight Sergio? And why would Sergio move down and lose his title as the 160 champ to fight them?

He could try to fight a random welterweight, I'm sure that's what Floyd would do in Sergio's position. And Murrays undefeated it's not like some guy with a losing record.

There was a giant uproar when it was announced. That was like 2 months ago though and the chorus and since died down because there's nothing new to talk about. What exactly do you want? Do you want the forum to be cluttered by a dozen "Murray-Martinez is bull****" threads just so you're happy?

Anyway, Martinez-Murray is a $10 dollar product while Mayweather-Guerrero is a $70 product. Murray is a 6 to 1 betting underdog and Guerrero is a 7 to 1 betting underdog. Which one should we be angrier about?

When has Mayweather fought a random WW? s In recent years outside of Marquez he's fought nothing but guys who were ranked at or near the top of the divison.

Murray being at #7 is one of the most undeserving rankings I've ever seen. How he is in the Top 10 is a mystery.

This is a joke of a fight and Mayweather would never have a fight as big as a joke as this is.

The only people talking **** about Mayweather/Guerrero are your typical Pacquiao fans/Mayweather haters who have nothing better to do. The welterweight division is lacking these days (as is the middleweight division) and Guerrero is universally ranked as a top 3-4 opponet.

Same goes with Murray, except he's universally ranked within the top 10.

I have no problem with Floyd's or Sergio's next opponets.

Murray is ranked #7 by THE RING, is undefeated and has a draw against Sturm in Germany. He's also a tall, solid career middleweight, not a guy moving up. He's also a British fighter (there's bad blood between the Argentines and the Brits) so naturally the fight is expected to sell well in Argentina, where Martinez and his management had already set their mind on fighting (Sergio's return home after 11 years). Also, an article here mentioned that over 10,000 tickets were sold within the first 24 hours.

If Martinez were to fight/KO guys like Lara and Molina he'd probably get criticized (see: Dzinziruk) and would be making pennies for it anyway; the only draws at 154 are Mayweather, Alvarez, and Cotto.

The only available opponents for Martinez on this date were the other titleholders, but this is supposed to be Martinez's return home defending his title so there's no need for him and his team to ruin the party and give the WBC a reason to strip him--the WBC doesn't allow title unifications (unless there's considerable money in it for them I guess).

For the record I don't blame Mayweather for picking Guerrero as his dance partner, I just think it's a boring fight since everyone already knows the result.
