Rios should have lost to Abril and Broner should have lost to PDL.
The question here is about being objective. If you are objective you will clearly see the scr3wjobs this sport gives. It is all about trying to be fair instead of rallying behind a fighter.Comment

That will NEVER happen. The very few people in this world that claim Broner won will NEVER say what rounds they gave to Broner because they know they would get called out on it.Comment

I think this is the way I had it too. I need to watch it again though. If I recall it was a very uneventful fight.I'm a big Broner fan, but he lost that fight to PDL, no question about it. He was given a gift that night.
PDL won the first 3 rounds cleanly
4th round was kinda close, although I gave it to Broner, he pulled it off in my opinion with his late rally.
5th, 6th and 7th rounds all Broner. PDL simply was not doing much. Broner was scoring clean punches.
8th round was close, I gave it to PDL
9th and 10th PDL did all the work.
6 rounds to 4 for PDL.
96-94
But people criticizing fighters for "losses" is exactly why promoters try to protect their fighters and put them in low risk/high reward fights. Boxing fans are heavily critical of losses and because of that, a single loss can destroy a fighters marketability.
So what you get is either gift decisions or fights that won't be made at all to protect "0's". See Rios, Broner and more recently, Bradley.Comment

Broner lost that fight but got a gift. Is this just about him or about clos fights going the wrong way? Or are even more interest, fights that go the wrong way, motivated by money. It's not like it hasn't happened before. DLH/Whitaker or DLH/Sturm ( no agenda, just off the top of my head). Two results where future money was at risk. DLH was even candid enough to say on tv in the case of the Whitaker fight. Add Paquiao/Marquez 3 to the list where the fighter that generates more got a squeeze. We hate it but it happens.Comment

Just because you throw a lot of punches doesn't mean that they all score. PDL slowed down after a good start. Broner blocked a lot of shots, and PDL was countered. That's what I saw. PDL got some punches in, but nothing to say that he won. Both guys didn't want to get hit by the other guy. Calling this fight a robbery is a disgrace.Comment
