No matter who the Klitschkos fight, some people will whine and moan about it. It's sickening.

Francesco Pianeta is a good fighter. He's 28-0, 6'5", age 28, a southpaw, a former world amateur youth champion, and has never been down in a fight.

All those fights you mention are upcoming for Wlad. Wlad's going to clean out the division and retire in a few years. All of you guys bashing him now will learn to appreciate his true worth with time.

I'm not bashing him. As stated I realize its not only his fault. And some of those fights should have already happened. There's no questioning his last 3 fights were all crap. All of them. That being said, he's quite clearly head and shoulders above everyone else. When he retires it will open up the division completely.

Pulling up a fight that happened 22 years ago - desperation at its best. You probably weren't around at the time, but Douglas' status as an underdog was not a mirror of his skills but of Tyson's dominance. Douglas would have been a serious contender in today's climate. Pianeta is a crap fight. I have never heard the guys name and I watch a lot of HW boxing. I doubt you had. He's not ranked with any organization and has never fought any note worthy opposition. fres oquendo would have been a far better choice. There's no two ways about that. However, the talent pool and who's available is not exactly deep.

Desperation at what ? I don't have to justify Wladimir's opposition as long as he beats all his mandatories and unifacations,which he has with ease.
Will you watch Wlad fight Pianeta,I suspect you will right ? Why else watch him if you don't enjoy watching ?
Oquendo how many in Germany will have heard of him,when was he last relevant in the States? RTL don't care who's relevant over there,figures will be significantly higher at home with Pianeta.

Thompson was quoted as world class by David Price,a fighter you've listed as a fave.

Don't count out Holyfield just yet! Doubt he would have won against the others you mentioned but that's besides the point. As stated previously in this thread, I agree the talent pool is not that deep. But he could have made fights with the likes of boytsov (before pulev), pulev, helenius, Fury, Povetkin, Arreola just once in his last four. But he's chosen not to.

He couldn't make a deal with Povetkin as he refuses to turn up or has his trainer make excuses for him,the WBA have enforced he must fight him.Boytsov has been out a year with promotional problems.Pulev and Helenius both ranked no.1 and Helenius has been out a year.Arreola was the original opponent for Nov,before he was injured and Wach stepped in.come on Andrew thats desperation naming all them,who you gonna call next Haye ? He had his chance and blew it entering a ring unfit and conning his own fans.

Don't know if you've been following boxing lately, but negotiations with team Povetkin are difficult.

That excuse is BS, they said they wanted a stay busy fight because the Povetkin negotiations would take a while. They then request the WBA to postpone Povetkin negotiations until after the Pianeta fight. A bit contradicting.........

Hey watch yourself Freedom,Andrew will be most upset and accuse you of reaching for desperation,it's the favourite word in his vocabulary when he's preaching Klitschko resentment after Price was humbled by an oap who shouldn't have been in the ring with a Klitschko,and Haye conned his own fans entering the ring unfit,displaying his inept performance that he'd preached would be career defining,well ok hand it to Andrew it was a defining fight,it defined him as little more than a with man with more bark than bite.
