what is it with cuban fighters always looking to the ref for help when the fight goes to the inside?

lara does it, rigo does it and so does abril. everytime a guy gets inside and tries to do work, cuban fighters hold their hands out and stare at the ref like "help me!"

Well 1st never said I was a broner fan. Just a boxing junky that calls it like i see it. Second no.... Rees talent and style wise shouldn't have been in that ring. But at the end of the day I wasn't the match maker that made the fight. Broner is 23 and unfortunately there is lil talent at 135. Why should he rush to move up in weight? I would honestly like to see him fight Ricky burns then go to 140 .problem is Vasquez may win and because he is with zanfer/top rank the fight with broner wil never get made. In that case move up test the weight in one fight then challenge khan..... As long as he hasn't been knocked out again.

Abril is a more deserving fighter to get big fights more than anyone broner has fought. He beat Brandon f'in Rios for crying out loud. If youre really a boxing junky then you would understand that until Broner fights someone over a c class and wins, he is a hype job clown that is an embarrasment to this sport. But thw onky way to get hin to step up is for viewers to stop being so simple minded and stop paying to see this joke beat up little dudes and dancing around like a crackhead

You approach every fight with a different plan. Rios was fighting clean (even tho he did his share of holding) while Bogere didn't. If anything that's a good thing, that tells you Abril has different styles and can mix it up.

Bogere was out of control. Ridiculous how some fighters get away with fighting like that, and some don't. Bogere almost did get away with it.

I don't understand how Abril is boring. He's a slick fighter that throws good, accurate combinations. Lots of fighters hold, and Abril is nowhere near the worst when it comes to that.

Thats called a "cover your a$$ statement" that he made because he used the MexiCAN and PuertoriCAN statements and covered what he was saying with the AfriCAN statements. There is NO need for him to mention any of that in the first place!!! Unless he is racially biased which it is clear he is. He played the race card then, and he plays the race card regarding support for black fighters, played the race card when he insulted hispanic fighters on a number of occasions. That was an awful fight and a boring one at that. I changed the channel around the 5th round. I usually don't change the channel but that fight was just to boring for me to watch.

Abril did not beat Brandon f'n rios...... His record displays a L regardless of what we all saw and no judges were suspended or even questioned regarding the fight. The belt on his waist is a gift to make up for a bad decision. If rios didn't lose the belt on the scales Abril wouldn't have it right now. Period. Once again I do feel broner needs to stp up the competition but Abril is not a step up. He won't move his feet in close to negate the power, hand speed and take advantage of broners lack of foot movement. He doesn't have the power to stop him and those slow 3 punch combos on the outside would lead him getting ko'd. Broner is immature young man but is he any more of an embarrassment to the sport than guys like Chavez, canelo, pavlik, eloy Perez, or Gavin Rees? All of them have had drug and alcohol problems or issues outside the ring. If you are talking about in ring antics... Macho and prince Nassem were over the top too. Just like a lot of people think broner looks ridiculous in ring.... How do u think it looks to fans other than Latinos when fighters come to the ring with a full mariachi band and dude in the skeleton mask with the cigar?
